ZX12_guy
The 'shee is stripped down to the bare frame and ready to be sandblasted and powder coated...The first place I went to wanted "around $400 or so" to sand blast and powder coat...I told them "thanks anyway".. :shoothead: The second place said $130 for powder coat, and "I'll send you to a place to get the sand blasting done," I guess the frame was a to long for him to do it..That other place he sent me to said $65 for sand blasting.. Does $195 total sound fair, or am I getting boned ??? :ninja:
okbeast
Sounds decent to me. There's a guy in town here that says he'll do the frame, swinger, and a-arms for 200.
ZX12_guy
Both dudes did say the price would go down with the more stuff I brought them......I'm going after market on the a-arms and swingarm..
Bansh-eman
sounds pretty good... in san diego it costs about 200-240 for a really good PC.
BigRed350x
I'm sending loco's red frame out for a re-PC after I did some work on the frame. I will let you all know where / how much it ends up being. I'm doing some research right now for places. I will probably go with somewhere out in utah since its so close. ZX12_guy
I'm kind of limited here unless I send it out, 2 or 3 places at the most....I'll prolly take the $195 deal and be done with it..

Sometimes you need to be careful of price, and go for quality. I had a few local PC shops coat a few things and was happy with the results. I then sent something out to someone with a great reputation and suddenly realized how much better thier coatings were than my local shops. From now on I only send my stuff to Chris from CE coatings. His work is absolutely amazing. Stands up better than my local shops to abuse, and jsut seems to be more robust and have a deeper color. You can just see the quality difference. http://cecoatings.com/index2.html If you decide to go with Chris tell him xjoshx sent you and he will take care of you! dajogejr
My buddy got his 450R frame done candy blue, valve cover and side cover done for 245 including prep, blast and paint.... Your price is about right....but, as said...you get what you pay for. It's gonna be shave and PC time for my bike after this year is over.... ZX12_guy
The shop with the better price impressed me more attitude wise, he was a rider (quads and street bikes) and has done a lot of work for the local racers....He seemed to be a straight shooter, where as the more expensive shop acted like he could care less if he had my work or not... My next door neighbor used to work on a top dirt modified team here, I'll see what he knows about these two also.....He usually knows where the quality stuff is !!!
