Meaning you do the final assembly when you get it home. Will a dealership even let one out the door that way. Been thinkin of buying a new shee since I wont be gettin any more chances, and tho8ugfht it would be fun to do all the work myself right from the very start. Opening the crate would be fun as hell. If the dealer doesn't put it together and service it, then they could be held liable if something is wrong with it. They're pretty much put together all you need to do is put the front shocks on, Tires, handle bar assembly, heel gaurds and fasten down the rear plastic, and pull the rod off that they have on to compress the rear shock for shipping. I might have forgotten a few things since its been about 4 yrs since I've worked there. It takes about 2 hours to do. But its all simple stuff. I know the dealer I worked at wouldn't let the maching go in the crate for liability and warranty reasons, and the mechanic that assembled the bike had to sign a assembly sheet from yamaha checking off what was done to the bike. I never noticed how they were crated till I bought my '06 last year from Alba. I went around the back and was checking it out. I couldn't believe it. They are all put together except for the wheels and bars like someone already stated. I assume they need fluids as well. What a fuckin ripoff! I figured some guy was back there with instruction sheets and bunch of Banshee pieces. I bet it takes them 20 minutes to "build". $600 for that? Just play hardball with them. yup, that about sums my job up. lol. well previous job. we never let a unit go to the public in a crate, dealer transfer was another issue. some people prefer us not to service them, but other than that they are ready to roll when i let one go. last time i built one it was an '05se. did wheels, guards/floorboard thingies, adjust the bars, shocks, remove the compression strap mentioned above, and a few other things. they do come with all fluids except your gas/oil mix. actually of all build banshees are the hardest/longest quad to do by far. a polaris you hook up the battery gas it and drive it for the most part. it takes about an hour at a good pace, as long as you want when the boss isnt looking. there are some other things im sure i missed, but if you have and dealership type questions ask me, and ill answer. The stock warrenty isent any big deal anyway right? I know my KFX700 was only 3 months or somthing. Anybody know what the standared warrenty is from yamaha? The new manager for the place now would probably let me have one still in the crate but when I bought my 450 it was already on the floor. My dealer never charged set-up or freight for the machines.. not even if we had to go and pick them up from another dealer. I always hated the old blasters, Everything was the same as the banshee except had to do the rear shock and headlight assembly plus (it wasnt a shee). We dealt Kaw, Suz, Yam, Pol, and Hon. I'll aggree that Yamaha atvs and Sleds are by far the worst to set-up. I think the worst one I've ever set-up was the 2000 Kawasaki Mules.. Them sucked ass...
