Bill
Adjustable timing plate(35),lighten your flywheel(50),shave your head(40)those are less expensive than most.
csrmel
those are good suggestions. other ideas to consider are not so much upgrades but maintence that helps out alot. lube up all the cables, linkages, grease the suspension. you would be supprised at how often a cable needs to be oiled. when my banshee was 3 months old i lubed the clutch cable and what a difference. now i do it every 3 months. Timing plate at +4 and a shaved flywheel will really wake that bike up. it'll get on the pipe faster and start haulin the mail... Do you have stock or aftermarket tires? Suspension, gearing and tires are often overlooked....all the power in the world won't do any good without getting it to the ground... Ron Burgandy
How do you mean shave the flywheel? how do you do this? Adjustable timing plate, shave your head? what is this?how do you do this as well?
Bill
Well you want someone who knows what their doing when it comes to shaving the head and lightening the flywheel.Shaving the head will bump your compression up which will give you some more bottom end power.Lightening the flywheel will help your engine rev faster due to less restriction.Advancing your timing will give you more bottom end power, you can install one yourself but you need the right flywheel puller. hawk363
is it tough to pull of the flywheel even with this tool, or could i do it myself with basic mechanical skills
Bill
You can get the puller off ebay for like $22 plus shipping,I wouldnt attempt it without one.And definetly dont use the finger type puller on it,all youll do is damage it. olmick
i think i got my puller off of vitos for bout 10 bucks, i would recommend using an air gun to get the flywheel nut off and to screw in the flywheel puller bolt to get it off, a hell of alot easier than using a regular ratchet
easyrider470
After you get the puller....pop off the flywheel....you might need a buddy to help by holding the flywheel with a strap wrench so you can loosen the nut on it.....you should do the 35 dollar timing advance while you do the flywheel.....you have access to all that stuffwhen the flywheel is off and it's very easy to do.....rickey stator.com i thin is the web site....you can get the timing plate from them....35 bucks..... Look up booneman on here he does the flywheels for around 60 bucks.....he did mine and you can really notice a difference in the revs... dajogejr
I agree...timing is a cheap mod too. Put some grease on the threads of the flywheel puller before you screw it into the flywheel. Also...a 1/2 impact gun works much easier and nicer than a strap and breaker bar!!! Adjustable timing plate, shave your head? what is this?how do you do this as well? Man, when I read that I started rollin'. the first thing that went through my brain was............ well first find a really good razor in one hand and a mirror with some Gillette foamy in the other hand................ I heard when you shave your head it helps with the aerodynamics, especially when you duck down when you are slamin' gears................ :yelrotflmao: Just kiddin' man, welcome to the HQ. We all started somewhere...................
