blacklimited05
WHICH ONE OF THESE PRE-MIXES SMELLS THE BEST? IYO
okbeast
Weird thread........but I think the Klotz makes it smell like methanol or race gas, the Castor just smells like good 'ol 2-stroke.
Big Blue
927 stinks IMO in regular fuel, mixed with 110 I think is smells pretty good.
hotrodbanshee
Out of those two oils which one burns cleaner? I have been running the castor927 for 3 years and I get alot of carbon buildup in pipes and the tops of the pistons. I think i will be switching to belray H1R synthetic premix @40:1. FASTOYS
Both are good oils for certain things. The castor oils tend to carbon up sooner than most synthetic oils. Maxima 927 is a castor oil and has kinda of a sweet smell to it cause of the castor oil. Klotz Super Techniplate is a synthetic blend with 20% castor oil and the Klotz also has a racey odor added to the sweet smell of the castor so it kinda smells well .......perfumey (if that is a word) . lol The Maxima 927 is harder (thicker) to mix when in colder climates though but the Klotz is not. I prefer Klotz motorcycle TCW3 black label as it burns much cleaner, smokes less, and saves me money on my car insurance. $ lol
hotrodbanshee
KLOTZ is Awesome So does the klotz supertech burn alot cleaner than the castor 927?
jbooker82
So does the klotz supertech burn alot cleaner than the castor 927? Yes The klotz oil that is comparable to Castor 927 is Klotz Benol. It is just castor oil. Supertechniplate is 80% synthetic oil and 20% Benol Castor oil. differentstrokes
I run 927 mixed with 110. Smells pretty good in 93 and 110, but you do get alot of carbon and gunk in the pipes. I think 927 is castor with synthetic esters added, not just castor. Maybe I'll try synthetic myself when I get more hours on my topend. Skidmark
I run castor 927 and I think it stinks too. When my dad got his last banshee it had amsoil in the tank and it smelled so freakin good!
Screamindemon350
i run klotz in the shee and amsoil in my zilla and they both smell good but the zilla smokes a lot more for some reason. when i ran the amsoil in my snowmobile it ran clean and my exhaust valves were always clean at the end of the riding season. trex banshee
I always ran HP2 in my bike which is 100% synthetic and then when i switched to alcohol i had to start running castor 927. Castor mixed with alky smells......well different, but i guess anything mixed with alcohol smells different.
.100_over
Klotz smells really good...
23champ
I run both. I run Maxima 927 in my CR500 and YZ250, and have had nothing but good luck with it. Upon every tear down all the internal parts have a coating of oil on them. As for the Klotz techniplate, I run it in my Banshee, just for the simple fact that I wasn't totaly positive that the 927 was compatable with alky. After researching it, I have found that 927 DOES mix with alky, but it seperates after time, so I think I'll stick with the Klotz for the drag bike. In my opinion the 927 protects better tho. reded
Personally, I could care less about the smell or carbon. No smoke smells good, and my motors usually dont have time to carbon up before they are rebuilt. As long as the oil does its job and keeps the sumbitch from blowing up I'm happy. Honestly, who sniffs their gas or exhaust and thinks to themselves, OMG that smells good?
