I think I mactually may have suggested something like that once, except it was two hookers and a cord fed harvest mouse. Possibly you could MSpaint us a picture of that. If I get it in time I will take it to our engineering meeting on Monday. :baseball_innocent:

I had no idea how to draw him as "corn fed".

^^^I agree. I don't feel like going back and reading through it all, but since your the

self proclaimed expert, why don't you just tell us exactly how it is?

I never claim to be an expert, it's just what they pay me for. :baseball_w00t:

Yep. I will say though, I know the teams that use honda engines get the whole engine completely assembled and ready to go from honda. They fedex them in crates to the team. The team simply throws them in the car, and its ready to go. Once the team gets done with an engine, they fedex it back. At least Andretti/greene racing does, I would imagine the other honda teams do the same.

That's how all the IRL engine are these dyas, now that it is a spec. series., all the engines are leased. Champ Car dies the same thing except they lease them from the series itself instead of Honda. Incidentally, the Honda engine is actually made by Ilmor.

That's hot........Where are the hookers? If hookers show up I will take it to the engineering next week since I missed the picture in time for it today. :baseball_santa:

I think an Indy car can do a 10 sec 1/4, or it should. A Busa with minimal mods will run a 10 sec 1/4 and run over 200 mph. The Indy car has 7 gears instead of 6 and a higher redline, better power to weight ratio and better traction over a busa. Also no worries in keeping the front end down on the launch.

Top fuel cars are well designed to do 330mph, I believe the argument is can a car NOT designed to do it run 10s. As far as a NASCAR car is concerned it takes several laps on a superspeedway to get up to speed because of the high gearing. Basically it can take over 5 miles to get up to 200mph. So do you see my point about what that would do in 1/4?

What RNBRAD said. Also, your crazy if you think a 700+hp NASCAR vehicle needs 5 miles to get up to speed. They do accelerate up to speed in a controlled manner when they are racing but that is just for safety reasons. It depends on the gears in the car, because they change them depending on what kind of track they are racing at, but they can run as quick as 10s or as slow as 13s in the 1/4 with their standard gearing options. Car and Driver ran one of Mayfields cars in the 1/4 with real crappy gearing and ran in the 13's. They burnt up a few clutches playing with it. In the June 2000 issue of R&T, they had a properly setup Nascar for the 1/4 mile and it went into the 9's trapping over 160. Indy cars have more gears to play with so they should be able to launch even harder and they have even better power to weight ratio.
