nicktoney
well, i have trinity IV pipes, some boysen power reeds in stock cages, a k&n clamped in the stock box with the snorkle off, im getting my noss head with 20cc domes friday, and im putting it all together and thought why not advance the timing +4... here is my main question... im at 12-1400ft, running 93oct. and its around 60-70* here when im riding at the moment, but soon to drop to the 50's... would this be safe? get my flywheel lightned and go with +4 degrees? also, which should i do? mod my own timing plate? buy an adjustable one on ebay, or just buy vitos +4 key? thanks for all replys! badassbanshee479
you need to check your compression after you put the head on. do you run pump gas or race gas?? timing will bring the low end on stronger and the lightened flywheel will make the bike rev faster. I think you will be fine doing the mods you stated. just make sure that if you end up with over 155-160 psi you switch to race gas, especialy if you bump the timing up. dont want to melt it down. oh and do a plug chop just to be safe. usaly you dont have to rejet but it never hurts to check. dajogejr
Either way, the flywheel is coming off. Get the Ricky Stator plate, it's 35.00 plus shipping. It's a few bucks more... We all "Say" we're not going above 4 degrees...but, I'd rather have a plate over an offset key anyday. Plus...the plate is adjustable, the key...well, you're stuck.
