bigbdog
I recently put on t-5's, v-force 3 reeds, and a boost bottle. However, my friends 450 is still kicking my ass off the line. What is the best/cheapest way to take care of that problem? I was told port and polish. Then others tell me cool head with 20cc domes. What do you think? streetbanshee
id say port and polish that coolhead wont help too much
walk72
port the hell out of it, then a + swing arm. Its hard to take a 4 stroke out of the hole, I'm running a full drag port with a +6 arm, PVL, CPI, and 34 flats. And it's hard to beet my YFZ out of the hole, once I stop spinning I fly by but untill then, it's tough somtimes
96bansheepilot
if u race on the street and you get a good spin in 1st, you should never get behind him but on the dirt you'll spin the tires like crazy. out of the hole, not even porting will help u unless you are on pavement. 100hp + no traction= slow holeshot. 50hp + no traction = slow holeshot. this is given you are on the dirt. and i am only refering to 1st-3rd gear in the dirt. the only cure is move to the street....then eat him up. walk72
I agree, alot depends on where you race, I was thinking sand, but if it's dirt thats a whole other ball game
chase@miamiatv.com
pilot ^ is 100 % right... Tons of Hp and no traction sounds like me. I never hook up and end up spinning till 4th gear. i need some real tires to get my 10 mill to actually hook up... Overall i think you need a port job to gain real hp out of any banshee . I cant express enough what a Aggresive port job can do to a banshee. Try it out for yourself !
race-a-holic
The right tires are a must.I've had piped 450's keep up or beat me. I had the wrong tires for where we was racing. Now if I had hooked up,I would have easily run away from them. It was all in fun.
mooman
I may be brand new here but I'm certainly not new to racing. Tire choice will win you the race or just as easily lose it for you. I'm talking dirtdrags, 300'. It's tough to catch and pass someone if they get you out of the hole. You learn tires and conditions real quick. mooman
Banshee4Drag
I recently put on t-5's, v-force 3 reeds, and a boost bottle. What do you think? If the boost bottle did not take care of the problem, nothing will, it has to be the best and most HP gain little gudget and retard as put out... Anyways, port and polish is allways a great MOD, and very workable aroud the bike, coolhead may be a low end gain but nothing hugh are to feel a difference, port and polish is the first step... okbeast
If you're worried about getting out of the hole more power's not gonna do it, it's all about setup. You need to find the right tire/psi setup for where ur racing.
CP5899
If your running dirt, your best tire is going to be pro wedge II's. More power with no traction is going to make things worse. Good luck
2002shee
20cc domes will give you more low end but it wont help your holeshot. It's definetly a tire spin issue like everyone said. Try starting in second, if you get the hang of it you might do better. If you do go with the 20cc domes check your altitude first. At sea level 20cc wil give you 169psi compression. This is borderline for running race fuel. I run them and I'm at sea level so it works fine for me with pump gas.
kb7kuh
I have a Dune port and am running 13/41 gearing with 21 10 10 paddles. On the sand I have never been left at the line by any thumper (launching in 2nd gear). I tried 300ft dirt drag racing with the same setup and it bogged down real bad at the start. No wheel spin! It's all about the setup up!!!! best time was 6.007 with a .890 reaction time. Nothing like beeing a sleep at the switch :: Going to give it one more try in Oct. ( just for fun & practice) then wait until the drag bike's finshed for next year!
