dajogejr
Well, lets see 1st off i said nothing about putting the fucking king kong grip on the bolts I said over tighten them ,2nd I run tusk clutches and the plates do have the tabs. maybe the reason i cant tell a difference in the clutch pull is because im not an over egoed crying ass fucking pussy that always has to be right about everything. every post your like this and its ashame..no need for it. :shoothead: I never said you said king kong grip. What I said is no matter how tight you tighten these bolts, they WILL not affect the clutch pull. That's a fact. You run a Tusk clutch? Sorry to hear that. So...you went and bought a Tusk clutch that comes with HD springs, but went and bought EBC (yes, EBC not EBS) springs on top of it?? Sorry...I've never used or installed the Tusk, and wouldn't dream of it on my bike. I can tell you from experience street bike clutch kits, EBC and Barnett do NOT have the tabs. You've got another user on here saying the same thing about the EBC HD springs....so, it's not just me. What is really ashame is your big keyboard mouth calling me a crying ass pussy with an ego... I'm just stating the facts, rookie....get over yourself. Find another user on here that agrees with you about "overtightening" these bolts and if it will effect clutch pull... :: :yankyank: If you don't like my posts, don't read 'em.... OK....a cable luber is obviously the best means...but, in a pinch. Remove the cable, either way. It's really the easiest way to work on it. Aside from MDS's post (good idea) here's another way. Take a piece of paper and try to make a funnel with it. I've always used WD-40 or PB Blaster type lube, it's thin and spreads pretty quickly. Nuthin wrong with ATF.... Sometimes it helps to move the cable in and out of the sleeve in order to get the lube around the bends and any pinched points. GOod luck.... The tusk clutches have been great for 1 I would recommend them anyday..its funny that I'm a rookie and I've been here longer than you! Ijust don't blab off at the mouth all the time and no when you order tusk clutches they come with HD EBC springs in a seperate case. I've ran barnett and EBC clutches as well and have fried them both in less than a year the tusk clutches are on a year now and havn't slipped once. Also I'm stating my experience with the pressure plate bolts with my hinson basket they were too tight and it yank the cable out of the puller everytime you squeezed the clutch took it back apart loosen the springs worked perfect everytime! then again I dont have the factory bolts in it. So until you can come here take my banshee apart and put it back together don't act like you know everything about everything and if you lash out at me I'll fire right back. but I'm not here for that I'm here to get a little and give a little............. okbeast
Thanks for the help, i'll give that a try this weekend. And damn man, chill out some, arguing over the internet is like a retard in the olympics........i think you know the rest.
dajogejr
if you lash out at me I'll fire right back. but I'm not here for that I'm here to get a little and give a little............. You, nor this user, never said anything about a Hinson clutch setup, did they? So...going on that...the assumption is the clutch is stock unless otherwise stated. And...since that still seems to be the case for the original poster, I stand by my comments. Overtightening the hold down bolts will NOT change the clutch pull at the lever period. I've got right around a 100HP motor right now, Magnum basket, stock inner and outer plate and Jeff's home made clutch kit. It is holding up fine. Hinson makes nice stuff...but, Mine is a helluva lot cheaper...and works 100% perfectly. All I did was state that based on the stock clutch ...your statement is wrong. And I still state that. YOU, however, called me an over ego'd crying ass pussy. Did you not? Who started the name calling and personal attacks? Oh, that would be you. Since you've fried two clutches and have had to put new ones in, I'd say you have it down pat...no need for me to stop on by and fix it for you. Unless you want to borrow my torque wrench so you don't overtighten anything. Lastly....do you really think that years being an HQ member or total post count has anything to do at all with one's knowledge of the sport or overall knowledge of motors? There are people on here with 3 times the years as me on HQ, 4 X the number of posts...but since they sit in the general discussion forums all day....does that make them king shit? No. That was truly a rookie comment on your part. I'd be happy to debate facts, experiences and findings all day long with you, and keep it cool. However, re-read this whole thread...and you started the personal attacks and name calling...so, yes...I'll fire back as well....and I've got nothing but time on my hands...I'm here all day. KlotzBanshee
You guys have some history or what? This shit came staight out of left feild. :baseball_bat: dajogejr, we all know you like to type  But, you do give some good advise and are able to explain it in terms a nubee would understand. I think endofitall9 takes that as you are talking to us like we're idiots, I disagree but can see his pov. Fact is, some people need shit explained to them. And those of us who don't shouldn't get pissed about it, take it with a grain of salt. OR...get pissed and cause some internet drama...for us to read :baseball_w00t: kinda cuts the mundane. :baseball_whistle: he is right most of the time. don't be mad he beats you to it
dajogejr
Yeah....I do tend to blab on...there is no doubt there. Short and sweet replies were never my specialty... I don't ever mean to talk down to people...at all. We all know that reading something posted doesn't really convey tone, attitude, sarcasm, wit...humor.... I don't need or like the drama, either. I like to come here learn, BS with buds, and hopefully help a few people out with the sport and machine we all have in common. At the same time, though...I won't tolerate personal attacks or name calling, it's uncalled for. I shouldn't have called him rookie...I take it back. But I think that's very tame in comparison to what was said about me....directly to me. I work in the computer industry...and often times I get a head of myself, and have to slow down and backup with how I explain things to people. I do my best to put things in plain english ...easy to understand. I don't care who you are, where you are or what you do. Without simple and clear communication, you're not getting anywhere....simple enough.
ssanddemon
Gotta love some drama now and then! Seems like Endofitall9 thinks that the problems he has had when combining top of the line components like Hinson with bottom-of-the-barrel trash like Tusk have some value to those running an all stock or very lightly modified setup.
