To twist or not to twist?

Ok, so Ive been reading horor stories about removing the TORS and replacing my thumb throttle with a twist throttle from toomie or other manufacturers. What is the verdict out there? Is the trottle sticking really something to be concerned with? How about control over the bike? What product other than toomie's setup would you recommend?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

It's generally a good idea to do away with the TORS, they act up and make carb adjustments more cumbersome. There are some guys that think you're less safe without it, but most of us have removed it with no inherent problems.

The twist throttle is a preference, love it or hate it. I've had one on mine for years and like it, but it's not for everybody, it takes some getting used to at first and it scares the shit out of some guys just because it's more touchy/jumpy.

But...you don't get anymore sore thumbs, and most people won't ask you to ride it once they know you have a twist throttle on it. :thumb:

I run one of my shees with a twist throtle and one with a thumb throttle. I like the twist throttle better, mostly because I grew up on dirtbikes, so it's just what I'm used to. A lot of people seem to be afraid of it, but I don't know why, if youve never had one on a quad, it's worth a shot. You might end up keeping it.

that's something you have to try out for yourself and see if it feels good to you. It's all in the feel. I rode for YEARS on a twist throttle quad, then got a new one ran the thumb for a few years then decided try the twist again, never could get used to it.

I agree it is all prefrince on what you like.

speaking of tors. i just got my banshee not to long ago and the guy before me removed it. But i noticed that some wires were undone under my gas tank. 2 of them go to 2 big metal things on the top of my carbs and are not pluged in. what do i have to do to remove them. because i am looking inot some new crabs for my bike. but not sure what ones to go with or what company. thinking 33-35mm carbs. any help would be great.

you cant go worg with motion pro! iv had 2 differant MP twist throttles on my bike and wouldnt go back to thumb. they are just comfortable. as far as tors is involved i havent had any problems becasue of removing it. you just got to make sure all the connections involved with it on the electrical side are removed and youll be fine.

well I had one on mine when I bought it. I tried it but didnt like it (this is only an opinion) I wasnt "affraid" of it I just plain didnt like it. I think the reason why you find them on bikes more is because typicaly you grip the bike with your legs as well. Myself I hold on only with my hands so I want my right hand to stay put and not have to twist.

Hmmm, that last part makes sense, I never though of it like that. I ride mostly trails, with my bikes, and my banshee, and I do think there is some truth to that, I personally don't mind it, but I think it is a very good point!
