DreamShee03
I have a friend's banshee in the shop right now and i was needing some help. The damn thing starts right up on the first kick and idles perfect but the second you give it gas (even a little) It dies. I was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what the fuck is going on with this thing. -darin

dajogejr
Could be... Unplug it all. Probably a good idea to completely remove the carbs and clean out ALL the passages as well.
DreamShee03
my buddy said he was just riding it, spun a donut, then it died and would just start but couldnt rev it up. More info on the tors system would be nice and mabye how to check it to make sure that it is ok. Thanks again -darin
dajogejr
Do a search on it...there's a thread here by chase@miamiatv on what to unplug....with pictures.
bigboybanshee
TORS could very well be the issue...here's Chase's thread  http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry557013 I know this sounds simple and stupid, but make sure the air filter is clean. If it's dirty and clogged, as soon as you nail the gas it won't have enough air to breathe, and kills the engine. Just trying to help you rule out what it CAN'T be, LOL
okbeast
Go out and check the parking brake mechanism and make sure that everything is tight and what not. There's 2 pieces that if they seperate they will cause this exact thing. I'd be willing to bet this is the problem.
tripledsracing
i bet u its the reeds mine done the same thing, have u looked at them to see if thats the prob thats the 1st thing id check instead of tearing into other things. chase@miamiatv.com
follow my thread bigboy posted above , if everything is disconected like my thread shows . You should have no problem..... If the problem still persist seek imediate banshee medication.... Check carbs.

lowriderb
if after checking the tors and parking brake systems.. the carbs are clean and in sync the reeds are there, the filters clean.. swap cdi's with yours and see if it still does it.. J-Madd
your pilot jets are good if it fires first kick. your needle and or main is off. also check your reeds. is the tors still conected? The main shouldn't have any effect at all while in neutral. I've had a main jet fall out and it runs fine up to about 3/4th throttle in all gears. But I agree w/ everything else you've mentioned.
