DirtyFitz
Well I have Toomey T6's w/ K&N Filter w/ all the recommended settings beside 280's (I put 270's in after head). I went to Dumont Thanksgiving weekend 2005 and I was running rich so I decided to try 270's and I got them in and put gas in (32:1 is my ratio) and ran it up my street 3-4 times and my floats out of no-where have decided to stick but right before my float issue it ran okay (or just let all of my gas out of the overflow tubes). Before the float issue I got a good 4 rides and and the bike felt fine just a tad bit on the hot side so I figured I was a little lean. Im going to a local stealership in the next 2 weeks to pick up some 275's and try them. All my settings should be Toomey recommendations (270 Main Jets, 25 Pilots, 1.5 turns out on airscrew, 4th groove on needle.) I havent gotten the idle set and cant start the bike without pull starting it. I know the floats need to be at 21mm and I thank my Clymers manual for that but what do I need to do exactly to get my jetting correct and get my idle set. Ive read much up on here over the past year and I dont want to waste $100 on some fool to get my jetting done when I can do it myself with a little help from you guys. If you need any more info let me know.
bigboybanshee
When you said you changed the jets after the head, did you have your head shaved or did you replace it with a cool head, etc.? If you had your head shaved, that could be why your bike is running hotter.

sredish
Replaced with a cool head and 21cc domes. If I remember right, my Toomeys liked a richer pilot ,but then again they were T5's not 6's. Nonetheless, try a 30 and see if that helps. Ducman
When you install the the richer pilot (27.5 air screw 1 to 1.5 tunrs out) that will make it easy to start, you also need to run a 310 main with a K&N filter/ air box lid off. 270 is way to lean. I used to run a 290 with a foam filter/lid off and FMF's.
