Stroker Crank

first thing i would decide would be what budget your going to work with. once you decide what you want.. a 10mm for trails would be a bit much, but not out of the question by no means.. for drags the 10mm with a well thought out set up will run better than a 4mm but that will come down to rider ability in the drags as well..

if your going to stick with the stock cylinders and still want a bigger stroke you could consider a 7mm.. that would hit right in the middle line of the other two cranks.. if your going bigger than you could do a 10mm cub, once you go to the aftermarket cylinders they all cost around the same (cub vs cub ect..) but you also have to think about all the supporting parts your going to need to make each different motor run and the costs of that as well..

with the bigger motor your going to have to replace parts to begin with or after they wear out.. like for instance your clutch basket.. the 4mm may not be too hard on it, but your 10mm will ect..

for a tight budget i would get a 4mm stock cylinder, some 35 or 36mm carbs (intakes for them), and inframe pipes.. run the stroke through the cylinders and have them ported for your riding style..

that shouldnt cost but about 1000-1400 depending on what deals you make and what you sell off your current set up..

if you have an unlimited budget... well thats a different story..lol

Ok I was thinking about it and I am going to get the Passion 12 port Stroker kit. But should I get the Full drag Port?

If it were me, I'd sell your stock cylinders on Ebay...

Drop in a 4 mil crank and get a 68mm cub cylinder...

A 4 mil cub is probably the best bang for the money, just cleaned up porting (to remove cylinder flashings and casting flaws)...

Don't get me wrong...Jim's 12 port rips...but it's easier to spend a few hundred more and bolt on a cub. It's already got drag timings and pickup some bigger carbs and Shearer or CPI pipes to compliment the whole build.

I'd say Shearers have more top end, but a narrower power spread...so, since you mentioned trail, I'd go CPI. However....you're going to need at least a 6 inch swinger or so to tame that beast, so...there goes trail riding...

I just went through this ...so, I can tell you first hand experience.

cylinders should run about 900, and the crank should be around 450.. so 1350 for you to install the crank and cylinders.. as well as needing bb domes, i had good luck with the small bore cpi's, and cubs like bigger carbs.. i would run at the smallest 36mm carbs.. and ive found that 38's ran the best for me..

I just got off the phone with jeff from Fast racing. And he gave me a price of $1600 for the Cheetah Cub Cylinder kit and a 4mm Crank and his clean up port job. And will 35mm PWK carbs work on this set up?

i know alota people have had there work done by jeff and they all reccomend him . Price seems resaonble . Have him set the motor up , or maybe see how much more $ he wants for a full port ?? overall its a cheaper and easier way to make yous shee scream .

he told me the only way he would do a full port is if I was going to use a +10 or +12 swingarm and if I was going to run monster carbs. But RDZ will do a drag Port and it will only be $50 more then jeff

I can do the same thing for the same price and call it a drag port But im not gonna do that to my customers. Too many people out there saying they are "cleaning up" or "drag porting" and the customer is getting basically off the shelf Cubs !! IMO a drag ported Cub wont really do you much good running the wrong pipes, tires, carbs, swingarm, reeds, etc. . But a properly setup Cub will make you much happier.

You are MUCH better off going with Jeff...

All that needs to be done is cleaning up the casting, trust me....and Jeff does that very well.

Cubs already have drag port timings....so what RDZ will probably do is clean them up a bit, raise the exhaust a hair, MAYBE...and take more of your money.

I'll bet Jeff's setup is cheaper and runs better...period.

Plus, his customer service is the best I've heard of or seen... You'll be on the phone with him a good hour ordering all this stuff, and he'll go over the WHOLE motor, spark plug to drain plug with what you really need.

just to let you guys know about doing a 10 mil stock cylinder you have to re-sleeve the cylinders(big money). The biggest you can go is 7mill and the pistons still come out the top so you have to have someone who can cut you domes for this. It gets pretty exspensive so you all might want to just think about cubs unless you are like me and want to look like you have stock cylinders and smoke some guys.
