G-force Axle Problem! HELP PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

Ok I started working on the banshee around 11:00pm today I installed my +4 swing arm and the new Works rear shock and the G-force axle. Also i installed all new seals and bushing and bearings in the relay arm and carrier. But i have a problem with the G-force axle. The lock nut does not stay in place and i can move it around. I am posting a vid that shows you what is going on so you can see the problem! It's about 4:40a.m. now in florida, so I need some sleep and i am getting mad at the G-force axle info on how to install it.

i have the axel also, I've ran everything uner the sun besides lsr and im very impressed with it......there are no threads on the axel! you should have gotten 2 snap rings th locknut and the spacer that goes against the brake hub and the setup goes like this.

brake side goes: Hub,spacer & snap-ring (Done)

sprocket side goes:

Sprocket-hub,axelnut(closed end against hub) then snap-ring

you can not tighten this thing up until you have the snap rings on after that loosen the allen head on the nut and tighten it up if the threads start turning Wd does wonder tighten it up then tighten the allen head and test it out be sure to retorq the castle nuts on the end of the bubs and the axel nut after you ride for awhile....hope this helps

There should be a spacer inbetween the nut+sprocket hub.Once you take it apart+ install it.It will push the nut to the left+by spinning the two piece nut setup, it will spread apart+take up the play.

The little spacer goes on before the break hub goes on.

You do not use the smaller spacer that is required for the blaster.

The lock nut is 3 pieces. The nut itself, the inner piece that goes directly on the axle and the locking screw.

Install the inner piece with the groove facing outwards tward the wheel hub. The groove is there

for the lock ring to ride in. Get it?

Loosen the allen head lock screw on the outer nut and start spinning it until the inner part of the nut seats itself against the c-clip. The inner nut will press against the c-clip and the outer nut will press against the side of the hub. There will be some threads of the inner nut exposed once you have it tight. Once it's all tight and all the side play is out of the axle, tighten the allen set screw.
