Hollister_Hitman
I plan on buying the c.v single carb kit from trinity racing. I ride trails and tracks so wouldn't mind gaining some bottom end to sacrifice some top,but I have some questions 1. How well does it fit with the o-ringed velocity air box (does it install easy)? 2. I only plan on getting exhaust for my bike. I won't mod the motor, so I only need the 33mm carb right? 3. The t.o.r.s has to be disconnected right? 4. If you have this carb kit how is your experience going with it Edited September 7, 2006 by Hollister_Hitman
Bansh88
I have the 35mm on my '02 and my '06. My '02 has FMF SSTs, Vforce 2s and no air box. My '06 has T5s, Vforse 3s and no air box. Those are the only mods. The 35mm bolted right up, I changed no jetting and they both run like champs.
Flip73
I run the Trinity single set up with the other stuff in my sig and love it. I ride trails, pits, that kind of stuff. Nothing really wide open like those guys out west. Since I run into my fair share of mud, I still run the airbox sans lid. I had no trouble getting it all installed. And, yes, you'll lose the TORS. It's nothing but an ugly pain in the a$$ anyway, so fil that away in the circular where Yamaha should have put it in the first place. I would think the 33 would be fine if you're just going to add some pipes. Good luck with it
chase@miamiatv.com
Have running with both dual and single's in my time , with my same setup . I concluded that the single's will dramatically reduce your total output power . However It is way easier to tune ... but duals is not as intimidating as you think. I personally would keep the stockers over a single carb setup. reason being is , well , theyre better The adapter plate is easy to install , and i would go with the 35mm , the motor will handle it just fine... two stock carbs = 26mm? each total of 52mm of air flow why would going to a 33mm TOTAL air flow in , be better .... i also tried swapping out my 35 , to a 40 mm and i noticed a waaaaaay higher powerband range, However the stockers still out preformed them both. GO FIGURE My motor had some pipes , really lightly shaved head , and a very mild mx port. Nothing extravagant , stock bikes with pipes are right behind me . 400rednEX
it's really easy to tune, the pwk itself is a lot easier to tune than the mikuni. you don't have to worry about carb synchronizing or one carb running differently than the other anymore. i would get the 35mm though because eventually you will want more mods. nitrousbaby
I have the 35mm on a shee with sst pipes and I cant see any loss on top end and it pulls out of the hole like a rocket I primarily ride and race in the dunes. I love this setup the quad is so much more responsive than with the stock carbs and it seems like your never very far from the powerband.
