i have just gotten my shee. i've herd so much about how fast they are. i've been riding since i was 9 im 18. i've had 80's n 125's. i've had blaster n a quadracer 250r. my shee is a 99 i just got running good(some elecrtical problems). it has toomey t5, 280 jets , a.m needle in the 4th position, a booste bottle. its idles good smokes a little only b/c its running 28 to 1 right now. problem is it just doesnt pick up the front end that much...im 140 pounds! n i like to wheelie. it gets up n goes but when u snap the throttle it doesnt pick up right away. i was wondering if this is normal or maybe my setup isnt right? or i need adjustments? the air/fuel is 1 1/2 out on both. i just eliminated the t.o.r.s w/o the hole setup and it runs n idles fine. any ideas??? help

Less oil....but thats besides the point.

How is your compression for one?

You just mentioned electrical...are you SURE it's 100% fixed?

What kind of tires...gearing, etc...

My 421 cub doesn't do wheelies either... when I put my 20 inch holeshots on (it fries them on dirt, grass...whatever...)....

it coulc be your just not used to where the powerband hits......

try getting a role on and let the rpms climb a little untill you can hit the power band to do the wheelie.....

ive let people ride my banshee and they come back and there like i thought this was suppose to be fast.....and im thinking ok what did u do wrong it hauls major balls.....than i told them to hold the throttle longer and wait till shee screams.....they were shifting before they even hit the powerband .......

all im saying is the powerband is pretty high on a banshee and if your not in the powerband it just doesnt act like a banshee should

i think i am gonna run 32 to 1. as for the electrical, no im not 100% sure its fixed but, it idles it runs doesnt backfire climbs the rpms w/o backfire or real bad hesitation. i got 20 holeshots, stock gearing. when u get on it it goes real good i mean i can tell the powerband but the low end just doesnt have that jolt that i think 2 strokes have. maybe its me. maybe i have a air leak i do have a boost bottle herd bad things about them. i took the t.o.r.s and by passed it but its still sittin on my shee. any other ideas????

All my 4poke riding friends do the same crap when I let them ride mine. Its funny watching the change of expression after the powerband actually hits though.

A banshee has NO low end...because there are no powervalves.

My 94 and 97 CR250s had power valve, and it was a whole new animal. That's why some people take the RZ route. The streetbike RZ is lineal ancestor of the banshee motor, but...It has power valves....which give it bottom end...

Most of the parts are interchangable...it's just kind of a pain to get the wiring for the powervalves sorted, but...it's been done a ton!

There are several ways to check for air leaks...but, by far the best and most complete way is to get a leak down tester. You basically pull the carbs and pipes off, block it all off with plugs...and pressurize the cylinders and motor. It should hold 6 lbs for 5 to 10 minutes or so....

PM machwon on here...he sells a leakdown kit for very reasonable...

boost bottle often cause the rubber boots to crack on the intake due to the extra weight of them.

Start your bike up, get some carb cleaner...or something light like that...

Spray around the carb boots and intake...spray the bejezus out of it. See if the motor dies down or wants to stall....if so, you have an air leak. Those are the easy places to try...next it's head/base gaskets and ....crank seals...

my bike will wheelie and spin at the same time on pavement with the stock swinger on it. that gets a little hairy. it is hilarous to see the look on my buddies faces and hear them talk about it after they do it. " holy shit dude that thing if F-in crazy. how do you ride that thing all the time" they ride 4 strokes.
