Difference in Air Flow

Dinner

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. Just wondering since im going to be getting my PC pipes within the next week hopefully, should i try and get some K&N pods, or could i just cut the sides, etc out of my box. My box already has a K&N W/O the lid, im just wondering if there would be a good amount of extra air with the pods or cutting more holes that will allow the pipes to breath better? My mods right now are Boyesen Reeds, K&N W/O Lid, Bored to 364cc(not really noticable a power gain ), DG Pipes, Stock Silencers...and thats about it.

Thanks

Your riding conditions dictate wether or not you need to keep your airbox...

If you're going to trail ride in any kind of water, etc... Keep the airbox with a pro lid or screen type on it.

If you'll be sitting dry ...go for the pods.

I'd say you'll probably increase air flow by roughly 10 to 15% without the box....

Yea i'm not a big fan of going out when its wet, so id have to say i'm hardly ever going to go through much water...maybe a little bit once a while. Maybe ill just cut some holes in the box for now

Keep the box. You will not notice any power increase. The box helps the filter stay clean longer too so I wouldn't cut any extra holes in it. It will flow plenty of air with the lit off. Pods are a pain in the ass but the only way to fit bigger cabs.
