4 stroke boring ?

Recommended Posts

i bought this quad for my son he wants to race it and bore it out what size boe would be good and reliable im not woried about him cuz hes rode the banshee i was just wondering what a good reliable bore would be thanks guys, justin

The smalles you can go to get the bore straight, taking it to maximum won't do you any good but screw you for a future rebuild.

Look into a good aftermarket piston like wiseco, and a cam and pipe.

Hot Rods makes a stroker kit for the warrior. You might look in to that.

One of the guys that I go riding with had a warrior and he put a 11:1 piston and a web or megacycle camshaft in it. I believe it was there all out race cam. It revs to the point were you were afraid that engine was going to let go. I would also do a clean up job on the ports at the minimum.

I got a Hot Rods stroker kit in my raptor 660 wich is now a 720 and it is reliable. It is a 102mm (2 mm. over) piston and a +4mm stroke crank.

The warrior kit come with a +7mm stroke crank. It makes 396cc's.

Race it at the dunes, MX, Drag?

If he wants to race MX, suspension would probably help him more then motor. If you guys are looking at getting better motor power you should probably upgrade to a new bike.

Suspension and Riding technique/skill can beat motor all day long.

+1 On that. Warriors suspension is extremely stiff and I believe is the same as the shee. I recommend him getting a rappy 350 or if hes at that age and demands more, get him a z400. Putting work on warrior engine is loss on money now, and worthless power.

Id have to agree. I had a warrior before I got my shee, and when I had it I thought it was pretty fast, until I got my shee. On a MX track, even with a cam and piston, the warrior simply didn't have the power to hit the jumps (yes I had a cam and everything too). Not to mention the suspension simply isn't up to par. It will take a couple grand just to give the warrior as much hp as any high performance quad has with just a pipe. And the handling on the warrior is atrocious.

If he really wants to get into racing, get him a 400ex, or z400.

Ya, get him a shee and crank the throttle adjustment screw on the thumb lever down until he can handle the rest of the power. My 11 year old daughter rode my brothers 660 craptor with the throttle choked down and she did great.

It had the same power as her warrior did with the choke down, and her friend rode her warrior and she did great on the Rappy. Just a thought, because then you wont be looking for another bike in a year when he wants more power, you just hand him a screw driver and a small wrench..............
