Dmcbanshee Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 For snow the better tires I tryed are Otshu - Pro edge II they give a very very good traction. But for ice it's sure your better with stud tires Check at this for see my with the Pro edge Banshee in the Snow Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 ive always used studded tires. they have always worked best for me. how deep ofsnow do you ride in? i use them in anything from a couple inches to 8 inches deep and they hook pretty hard... Quote
dajogejr Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 DMC...that snow vid is kick ass.... Ty...I'm surprised you don't use your grooved/chopped kendas in the snow. I figured they'd paddle through quite nicely... Wait...do they even have snow in MO???? Ya know we get dumped on in MI... :yelrotflmao: I'm going to pickup (make that borrow) a set of cut turf tamers that have 1 inch carbide studs in them for the ice racing this year... The guy that made 'em used fender washers...and these studs don't move at all.... I can't wait to get out on the ice...but, I'm ready for a dune trip or two first!! Quote

derfnigel Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 i use mud lights with studs in the center knobs work for all conditions.Use the factory tires on the ice track studded . Quote

bansheePQ Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I use maxxis 4snow for 3 year now........cheaper and lot more durable than the othsu.......quebec guy like DMC and me know a lot about winter stuff! Quote
Joshtruction Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 What about clearance with 4snows? 22" is the size I see for sale, and they expand 40% so they say... does it rub on anything? Quote
djackbanshee Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 they wont rub i have a -3 swingarm with nerf bars and it doesnt rub. Quote
23champ Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 AMS also makes one similar to the Pro Wedge, and 4 snows. Its call "Zipper", and its prolly cheaper. Quote
racer Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 paddles for snow anyone? heard it, but never tried it. Quote
greg_banshee Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 no never tried paddles but all i did last year was use 1/2" holiday studs & put 2 studs in each knob of my I-Razrs ... they hooked up Amazingly on Ice !! & they worked really good in snow but nothing any deeper then 10-12". the Shee's down for the winter this year  but going 421 4mil Cub in the spring ! :woot: !! (Nova Scotia, Canada... Belive me i know winters lol) Quote
djackbanshee Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 paddles for snow anyone? heard it, but never tried it. They just sink in snow until they catch the soil, and they are shit on ice Paddles in winter Use prowedge or 4-snow they stay on top and bite to snow and ice. Quote
