LiftdT4R
It is a tranny where the gears are "cut", so they can be shifted without using the clutch. There are a few different kind of over rides such as a duneable. I don't ride dunes, and don't have an over ride, but more members here should be able to fill you in a little better. You can also try the serach, it has been discussed here a few times.
locogato11283
an over ride allows you to shift up at full throttle without the use of the clutch. regular over rides cant be down shifted until you come to a complete stop or youll bend the shift forks. duneable over rides can be shifted up and down with or without the use of a clutch and they wont bend shift forks. if you arent full drag then go with duneable, its well worth the money even for a trail rider. dajogejr
This is the guy I'm going to be using when I get mine done.... badassbanshee479 has one from him, dunable, loves it...no issues. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sspagenameZWDVW I'd just call him instead of going through Ebay... badassbanshee479
I have a 2-5 dunable in my bike, one of the best mods I have done, never miss a gear again. I just called the guy off ebay and ordered my tranny straight from him. hit me up if you have anymore questions

FMS50
This thread is great.... It just answered a bunch of questions I had about that tranny also. I looked him up on Ebay and I just left him a message.
badassbanshee479
JT...how come you didn't get the 1-5 instead? Just curious.... Did you keep or remove 6th gear? I was told 1-5s where ment for ashfault so you can run real tall gearing and still be able to take off hard. I went 2-5 cause you dont have to shift as much, and I never used 1st anyway. I removed 6th you cant have 6th with a 2-5, you can how ever get a 1-6 but you have to come to a complete stop to down shift, and they are prone to breaking. sweetquads
Good to know....thanks. I'll give them a call when I'm ready.... I can vouch that an over-ride makes a huge difference when dragging. I took mine out but it wasnt a dunable one. I will probably get one of those when i put my new carbs on. Between that and a lockup...I'm hoping to gain .2 to .3 seconds off my 300ft time, and...no more missed shifts or "Phantom Nuetrals"... I love my pipes...but, if you shift just a hair early with the clutch and you're not on the pipe....your race is over....
