phx450
Fully polished Banshee engine, 496, T-Rex pistons, new crank (stroked), rods and pistons, Long rods, killer port job, stage IV head, needs assembly. $1500 Anyone can tell me if this is a solid motor/package to run. How is the price? I was looking at doing a cub motor, but I've been told this would be faster.

I prefer a CP product such as cub or cheetah I not saying there isn't any......but I have yet to see a very impressive t-rex.....and i have personal experience with a 520 that was a dog....... phx450
Really? I was told the T-rex's were monsters. What am i looking at Cost wise for a brand new cub? I figure the 1500 bucks would be a cheaper route. HMMMM.
23champ
If I were you, I'd go with the cub. It will run better and prolly be cheaper ( if you use stock crank).

Who done it?If the person that done the port job didn't know what he was doing then I'd say just get a cub. There's alot of people that can make the cubs really fast. Big Blue
Well the head wont fit the t-rex either I dont think.
bigscary
Well the head wont fit the t-rex either I dont think. Black Label Racing has sevearl cubs running well below 4.0 in the 300' sand with full size pilots on them.........
Big Blue
Yep the cubs are the way to go from a best bang for the buck stand point.
phx450
Well i guess i will ditch that idea! Out here in Phx who sells the cubs? I recently just bought a project banshee and in the process of stripping it down. New everything. The info i have recieved from this site is that the cub is a mid-top end monster while the Cheetah is your all around motor. But Price being a huge difference. Which Cub would you guys recomend. This is going to be a Hill Bike at Glamis only! Maybe very little flat drags at glamis as well. I dont mind maintenance, i just done want to work on this bike every weekend. What size would you guys recomend? If it will be somewhat reliable i obviously want the biggest cub they make. Thanks for the help.

alcoholbanshee
If I were going to build a cub motor........it would be a 4mil stroker/72 bore. Very reliable and pretty good power.
