LiftdT4R
I think my FMF headers came out pretty awesome, I had a guy from VA do them because I could find no one around the NJ area, and he does awesome awesome work, he even sandblasted the pipes for me, and cleaned them all up. I havent gotten them installed on my bike yet, but I do have 2 pics. It was done in 1400+ High Temp Silver with the FMF letters done in the same high temp black. I am interested to see how well they hold up after riding, because the original chrome finish sucked. Here goes pics, Gotta give this guy a plug, if you ship him headers(must degrease first), he does an awesome job. I paid like 120 or so for the work abov, I also have him doing my hubs, and some other stuff. Awesome guy to work with, check out his site, http://home.earthlink.net/~callmej75/ Edited August 14, 2006 by LiftdT4R

LiftdT4R
looks good, for that same price you could have gotten them rechromed  I'm not big on chrome, I hate how it turns colors when it gets hot, and every chrome pipe I've ever had, never lasted long. I wanted to give this stuff a shot, if I go to NY during the summer and ride, I wont wash my quad for the whole week I'm there, and it really takes a toll on the pipes. I'll see if it holds up any better, I could have gotten away about 30 or 40 cheaper if I didnt have the raised letters done, but hey, gotta have a little bling. LiftdT4R
for the same price you could of had those pipes thermocoated.........= more HP I'm guessing your referring to the ceramic coating? I've heard mixed things about it, mostly that it was going to be fragile. I do mostly woods and trails, so I was really looking for something that was going to hold up. Like I said too, you could get away cheaper if you don't have the raised letters done in a different color. Just wanted to try something new, if it holds up for me for more then 2 seasons and still looks good, I think it will be worth the money, but we'll see. Spray the inside of a chrome pipe with white high temp paint and it won't turn colors. Mine still look like the day I got them.

Jet hot's coating your can smack it and dint the metal and it wont flake, peal, or crack. It flexes with the metal.

jbooker82
If you smack your header or pipe with a ball peen hamer. It will just dent. The coating flexes with the metal. Normally paint would crack and fall off. Leaving a bare metal spot.

I'm gonna run the powdercoat next season, and I'll see how it holds up from there. These pipes looked awful, and if I didnt do something about them, I definately wouldnt have been able to run them after next year, so hey, $130 beats $330 for new pipes. Still have to buy silencers though(shitty FMF stuff).
