Better response to porting sst or fattys

Recommended Posts

Just wonderin what pipes i should use on my ported banshee and what ones should go with the unported cylinders, rocketboy did the port work its kinda done tords mid top end as i understand it

The SST's are more for a stock port motor, and they will respond to the port work, but the Fatties will respond even better. SST's to Fatties, is like comparing T-6's to T-5's. SST's and T-6's are made for stock port motors. Run the Fatties. I used to have a set of Fatties on mine, before I had it ported, and put them back on after the port work. Damn what a difference.

T5's hands down, every day of the week. And they sound WAY better than FMF's IMO.

The question was about FMF Fatties and SST's, and nothing to do with Toomey's. It's all personal preference, when it comes to the different manufacturers. He asked about FMF's, so I'm just guessing that he is only considering FMF's, or already has them. BTW, I out ran every Toomey Shee I ever raced, with my FMF's.

i think either one would be fine .the porting I did on your jugs is setup similar to my aggresive trail she that has fmf fattys and it rips hard ,even i n the lowend rpm range ,basiclly the sst series fmf's wil l likely have a tad more topend which is probably what your looking for to compliment the port work and your riding style yo u requested , if i had a choice ...id probably pick the sst ,but realisticly the difference between them would probably be within 1 or 2 horsepower most likely IMO .
