help tune my shee

For starters...I don't think you have enough power to pull that gearing. Go back to 14/42 or 14/41.

Your jetting sounds close enough...but, without enough power to pull that gearing, I think you'll be fighting jetting woes all day...without figuring the real problem.

You probably need about a 260 to 280 main jet...but, I think the gearing is the first problem.

Do you have a stock or Toomey/Dynojet needle? If it's a stocker (5 grooves) put the needle back in the middle groove. If it's a Toomey/Dynojet needle (longer and 6 grooves) leave the clip in the 4th groove from the top.

I NOTICED THAT WITH THE 6 GROOVE NEEDLE IT STUMBLES IN THE HIGER GEARS.SO I PUT THE STOCKNEEDLE BACK. THIS IS THE DEAL MY BUDDY HAS AN 06 SHEE AND BOTH BIKES ARE SET UP THE SAME AS FAR AS I KNOW THE ONLY DIFFERNCE IS THAT HES GOT A 22/11/9 TIRE TO MY 20/11/9, THATS THE ONLY DIFF, WHEN WE TAKE OFF I JUMP OUT IN FRONT 1,2,3, THEN HE TAKES ME AT TOP END MY BIKES IS STILL PULLIN BUT JUST CANT MAINTAIN THE LEAD .WE DONT RUN MORE THAN 1/8 OF A MILE GIVE OR TAKE. IVE TRIED 330 MAINS BUT TO RICH.LIKE I SAID EARLYER IVE GOT 310 MAINS .IVE TRIED 280/300 AND TO ME ITS TO LEAN THE PLUGS LOOK REDISH OR A RUST COLOR ON THE ELECTRODE I SAY LEAN,I PUT THE STOCK GEARING BACK AND HE BEATS ME WORSE. DO U THINK MAYBE SOME REEDS MIGHT HELP .THANKS :notworthy:

I think reeds will help, reed will give you better throttle response, I felt a difference, I got vf3 reeds. The plug should look light brown, when you do a plug chop.

he's geared taller than you bro. your going to jump out because you have lower gearing and when you start winding out, his higher gearing kicks in and kicks it. 2" tire difference can be quite a bit.

swap tires and see what happens.

if it's tuned right, he should be able to pull a 15/40.

I would leave the toomey needle in, and change clip positions.

Also...for the hell of it, swap tires, it's only 16 lug nuts to loosen and tighten.

See if the story changes...

Are you both of same weight and skill??

WE ARE ABOUT SAME SKILL BUT I DO WAEIGH 50 POUNDS MORE, I DID A PLUG CHOP AND THE PLUG IS ON LIGHTLIGHT TAN COLOR, SHOULD I PUT MORE MAIN, 320 MAYBE I HAVE 310 ON IT.WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE PILOT, ITS STILL STOCK.

1 MORE ? WHAT IS THE DIFF. V FORCE AND BOYESEN RAD REEDS, LOOKING TO BUT SOME REEDS DONT KNOW WHAT IS BETTER. IF ANY BODY HAS SOME YOU WANT TO GET RID OF LET ME K

KNOW. :flamewar:

You want a tan ring 2mm thick at the base of the insulator if you did the plug chop right.

There were some VForce 2's for sale cheap here...me thinks...

THE RING AROUND IS ABOUT A 1/8 OF AN INCH AT THE BOTTOM THE TOP LOOKS LIGHT LIGHT TAN COLOR, WHICH DO I GO BY IVE HEARD BOTH WAYS,DO YOU THINK TO RICH OR TO LEAN,ALSO I FOUND SOME BOYESEN RAD REEDS ARE THEY ANY GOOD, THINK THEY WOULD HELP.

TIRED OF GETTING BEAT AT TOP END :baseball_wibble:

The ring is what you go by, and it sounds perfect. Time to work on your launch, gearing, tire pressure and tire diameter...

Boysen reeds are ok for replacements, you will barely notice a difference, if at all.

Get some porting on that motor...that's where all your power is.
