rkc
Isn't it the same amount of gas flow through the pilot jet if you have the needle on it's richest notch with a #25 pilot vs. having the needle on it's leanest notch with a #27.5 pilot? If this is true shouldn't you always move your needle to end direction before you change pilots?
sredish
the needle meters the main jet, not the pilot jet. so, some may disagree but i use the pilot only for idle purposes; it doesn't really affect the needle much. now, changing the needle taper or length can directly affect the mian jet. the pilot and air screw work together on the idle circuit and the needle and main work together on the 1/8 and up. Thanks sredish I didn't know that. So does a after market needle(longer, thinner) make a difference in real terms? If so how? Sorry for all the questions, but I really think this jetting stuff is alot of fun!
