Hey guys im looking to do some mods to my banshee

so where do you recommend I find this stuff?

cheetah cub kits?

+4 swinger?

+1+2 arms?

shocks?

oversized radiator?

rear axles?

dune porting jobs?

and also what size engine should i go with a 4mil?

does the crank the comes in the cub kit come trued and welded?

is that necessary?

what pipes would you recommend? i ride dunes and fast trails

thanks!

Jeff @ F.A.S.T. has all of the above I believe.

If I had it to do over I'd go with a 4 mil 68mm bore. I would think (not sure) that aftermarket 4 mil cranks would be trued and welded already. T5s or CPIs would probably be great pipes for your riding style.

Call Jeff, he'll answer all your questions, in detail...period.

You don't need porting on cubs...ride it first then decide if you need to be ported.

They do weld the crank from the factory on aftermarket cranks, Jeff will be the first to tell you he rewelds them because the factory welds from Wiseco have known to be for shit....

I feel through research and trusted rider's opinions (and the guy I had rebuild my bike) that RDZ/Shearer inframes were the best choice for my cub...

I CPI and Shearer are very close, IMO. Where CPI comes on a little sooner and falls off a little sooner, Shearers will make more peak HP and pull longer in the RPMs.

Now...I'm not saying one makes 20HP more than the other, we're probably talking 1 to 3HP at most....

Jeff will probably tell you CPIs. Since I had T5s on my cub I can tell you...Cubs make power, period.

But...you're choking them out a bit with a trail based pipe. It'll be fun, no doubt...but you will be missing on a few ponies. From T5 to RDZ or CPIs...I'd guess around 5HP give or take, and there's no doubt either of the pipes will pull longer.

My friend gave me a helluva deal on my RDZ pipes...I simply couldn't pass 'em up. Plus...you can get to the motor easier than with a CPI.

Talk to Jeff...

You can PM him on here, FASTOYS, or:

Tell him you'll gladly give him some pizza or FBT (Fat boy treats) as partial payment...he'll laugh...

I can agree with dajogejr on the "time on the phone is money thing". But if you don't want the thing comin' apart you need to spend the money, or you will constantly be tearin' it down and replacin' things that break. Do yourself a favor and and spend the money on the right parts. If you can't afford it then you can't play with the big dogs yet.................

With cubs and that kind of horsie power you need longer swinger, shocks, longer chain, longer brake lines, better clutch, pipes, larger carbs, intakes, better head, and new pack of fruit of the looms.......... :yelrotflmao:

Just so yourself a favor and do your research....................

Jeff has a quote in his signature that sums it up very well.

You can go broke saving money...

If a quote ever fit, this one does...doubly so with a cub.

so are you saying that i should just ride and upgrade when the time comes?

i have two more questions,

what do i have to do to put a new swing arm on, im thinking of getting one from the swingarm shop

will the stock brake line work on a +4 extended?

this is the one im thinking of: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-4-6-Exten...emZ320005710009

also, what is the max compression psi that i can still run on 91 octane?

im at sea level so what size dome would work for me on a 4mil 68bore cub on 91 octane?

im confused on the cub sizes

i am looking to get a 421cc engine

here yamaha says the stock stroke is 54mm

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products.../2/0/specs.aspx

but here the numbers dont add up, a 4mil stroker brings it to 58mm stroke right? then i would choose the 68 mm bore

http://patriotracing.net/Cheetah%20Cub.htm

but 58mm*68mm=394cc NOT 421cc

now 62mm*68mm=421cc, but that would be a +8mil right?

Most of the time, you get the 4mil crank with 5 mil longer rods... that gives you 421 with a 68mm bore.
