I tried GRR"S and i liked them but no way in hell do they pull better then shearers.
shanYE west
I would say it depends on what you would be doing more of. If your gonna do more dune riding then draging I would say T5's, More dragin then duning CPI. All out drag Shearer. Just my 2 cents.
dajogejr
I'd 1/2 agree with that statement. Since you said duning and dragging...just go with the CPIs. If you said trail riding or farting around the house, then I'd say T5's. Just out of curiousity, Wallace...is there a reason you haven't considered Shearers or RDZ pipes? WALLACE84
No theres not really a reason why I havent looked at those pipes yet but I know alot of people run Cpi's and like them. The only reason I put this poll up is because I have a set of T5's sittin in my shop. But now that you said something, Im gonna have to go check those out now Thanks

Well I figured he might be doing some trail riding also.. but I forgot he's putting on a +4 swingarm and that wouldn't be to trail freindly.. So I agree with CPI
dajogejr
CPIs will have a little bigger power spread, Shearers will have more power, in a narrower RPM range. However...and someone is going to debate me on this of course, look at a bike with CPIs and look at one with RDZ/Shearers, and tell me which one you'd rather change spark plugs on. Also...I don't know about CPI...but the stinger tube routing is ingenious.... Right up and over your air filters...not even close to them. But, as read from a few other users here, I too had to put about 1/2 inch of washers on the left pipe, it was too close (rubbing) the head...big deal... Thanks,Dan Go with cpi i have t5's they might be ok for dune runing but drag i lose top power, the guys that run sheare's and cpi have a lot better top end than me. Full drag port, csse match, lower case trench out cool head 19cc domes clamp on K&N's booost bottle t5's + 5 timing 10 over swing skat track tripplebuff 9 paddle 14/42 sproket weak in the carb area stock with 410 mains and stock reeds. It'll rip out of the hole but its gon on top, so if you are going drag more go cpi i would anyway would love to get rid of these t5's just my thoughts. I just sold mine, BEAT UP for 200. Pipes were in ok shape, but the Chrome was pretty chitty... You can probably get 250 or more for them, that's more than half of the price for a set of Shearers.... They go for around 465 or so.... Or try to find some used ones here or on PS. Honestly, I think you should carb it first, though...since you do a LOT of drag racing... Got the carb's covered 34mm mikuni's there not as good as kehin but better than stock. my t5's are a little rough, they were not perfect when i got the shee but a hard lesson learned never put paddle tires on a shee the first time you drag. stood that baby on end broke both silencer's off not to mention felt like a ass so they have been welded. but from the looks of what this guy has for a motor he will need to have a little breathing room for his shee. Mine is straight drag only, got some goodys for the winter fix it time. $200. for beat up huh, wonder ebay or HQ? got to go get some pic's. KEVSWS6
Shearers are the best bang for the buck. If you know the correct port durations to set these up with nothing comes close.

I used to run FMF Fatties, and the CPI's seem to have more on the bottom, than the Fatties did, plus a lot more mid and top. Just my .02.
