Hummah2
For those of you who have a temp gauge what does your banshee usually run around and what do you consider too hot...??????? Let me know please. I dont know if this is a dumb question or not but whatever. Also whats the benefits if any of running the gas oil mix with more oil then 32:1 or whatever its suppose to be..? What do most of you guys run what mixing ration. Thanks./
BenBB
Mine typically runs 160-170F, anything over 200F is hot. I use 32:1, opinions vary as do oil formulations (like Amsoil that is made to be mixed at 50:1 or 100:1), some guys say more oil (lower ratio like 24:1) makes more power because the rings seal better, others contend that less oil (higher ratio; 40:1) means more fuel to burn... Thanks./ I keep mine under 200* putting around it heats up quick especially in soft sand or doing donuts ! usually it's Alow air flow prob. just go for A quick rip & it cools down. I think A temp gauge is A must. my .02. I wouldn't have ever guessed how hot it has tried to get doing donuts & not cooling it down afterwards, 230+!! RIPPEN
Same here with the temp... 160-170 at a stedy pace with some air flowing it stays right there. Climbing or allot of slow mine will get up to 200-210 when I shut it down... I run Klotz 40:1... I alos agree that a temp guage is a GREAT way to go, I love mine RIPPEN
01 B4C
I too was thinking of running a temp gauge. Which one you guys recommend, who's the best?
jbooker82
I just have an automotive temp gauge in mine. It aslo lights up when i turn the head lights on. The temp sender is installed in a maniflold in the lower radiator hose. If i am moving fast it runs in the 130 to 150 range. If I am slow trail riding it is around 180. I know the lower hose isnt the most accurate place. The ideal spot would be in the hose coming from the cylinder head to the radiator. csrmel
how about this little thing. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGZK7 it works great on r/c cars. im thinking maybe it could be mounted to the handlebars and be a cheap way to monitor temps. BigRed350x
It also depends on what gauge you use. Rippen and I noticed this with some of the temps I have reported. What I would consider high on my gauge is what other people ride at. My normal reading on my gauge riding around the dunes in 100 Edited August 9, 2006 by BigRed350x

dawarriorman
walmart it is !!!!!!!!! do these connect to the water lines or ??? Yep. buy something like one of these http://www.cardomain.com/shoptype/Water+Temperature+Gauges You want mechanical. Then you simply find a t-joint with the right fitting for you probe, and put it as close as you can in the water line going back into the radiator. Well the top part that you see is just the trail tech bar clamp made for there lights. Then you take the little metal mounting loop that most gauges come with and straighten the L part of it out. Then just clamp it between the bar clamps.

jbooker82
thats what I did. In the pic it looks like it's all in one The hole in the bar clamp just matches up with the gauge. What kind of manifold did you use to mount the tem sender in. Mine is this huge brass thing. Thinking about re doing it. josh
