shearer, cpi or GRR

Recommended Posts

ok well my banshee is .020 over, dune port, shaved head, lighened flywheel, +5 timing, 34 pj's, and v3's. i have pro circuits now and they are not bad but i know if i put some cpi's, shearers or GRR's it will be alot better. i ride dunes in california, drag, jump, everything. any suggestions? i know this question has been asked 2 million times but i cant decide. ive found all three for around the same price. thanks

from what the guy who is going to do my motor he says that the shearer small bore inframes would be good for the kind of setup you have

i think any of those pipes are a terrible choice for what u wanna do. sounds to me like youre an all around rider who likes to do everything. all the pipes you have listed are drag pipes and will put most of your power in the upper part of the rpm range. you gonna be at 12 grand when youre jumping or just messin around? i think you should stick with what u have or go with some t5's, which are an excellent all around pipe...

There is no better pipe on the market that will out performn shearer . PERIOD

yea ill agree top end there is prolly no better choice, but this guy wants to ride his bike all around and a lot of what hes doing isnt gonna be very much fun with the hard hit of the shearers...

i hear what you are saying locogato but when im riding i feel like my pro circuits are taking away from my bikes performance. from what i understand (and am probably wrong) a PC is an mx pipe and out in the dunes im running more wide open so it wont really hurt to have a more top end setup. i also am gonna do some trail riding, will the other pipes mentioned (shear, cpi, grr) be crappy for trails. i understand they are drag pipes but any banshee in the trails is gonna take some throttle, clutch, gear finess. thats why we love them. i basically want my quad putting out the most power it can with the mods i have done.

his dune port would complement shearer's and the overall BAAAAAAAANG for his buck......

Put the power to the pipes , get the tires spinnin and tell sally to hold on.... The bitch mite fly off... :jesterlaugh:

as far as drag pipes go i'm a sworn believer in grr's.my second choice is shearers and then cpi's.however in your case with your mods you maybe further ahead with cpi's or t5's.no one can really tell you which is better for you because only you know how and where you plan on riding and just how your motor runs.

If you're gonna dune more than trail, Shearers or RDZs all the way.

Other way around, T5s are a fine choice.

You can forget about low end with any of those drag pipes, CPI will probably have the most, but pale in comparison to the all around power of a T5.

You really need to be on the gas to get the benefit of the drag pipe, you'll spend as much time locking up the brakes as you are on the gas in trails with them....

I agree

T5's would be ideal with the setup you're running.

I think so...I've always known PC pipes to be a more mid range pipe; where T5's are a mid-top pipe. I use to run T5's on my trail bike and really liked them, and they ran good when I took it to the dunes too...I just think you'd be better off with a pipe like the T5's so your power will be spread across a broader spectrum of the powerband, where the drag pipes are going to give you more power, but in a smaller range and only at the top of the RPM's....does that make sense?

Also, T5's react very well with any porting

so i would notice an improvement running T5's instead of the PC's?

i was just on trinitys website and they only have stage 4's on there. do they not make T5's anymore? what is the differance between T5's, stage 4's and the PC's. Thank you guys for all the input, i spent a decent chunk of change on my bike and i want the best pipes i can get.
