GleasmJA
I'm trying to figure the diffrence between cubs and cheetahs? I know they both flow great and all... But what is the major diffrence? Thanks
XxMeltIcexX
POWERVALVES!!!! I think?? lol.. all i know is that the intake is alot bigger.. more flow than cubs = stock reed size..
munkenaround
the price is significantly different due to the valves too. They are both cheetahs only the ones without the valves are cheetah cubs.
BigRed350x
Cheetah monoblock cylinders use a bigger intake reed system, borrowed from the YZ. The reeds are closer to the size of those found on 250R's. The head on the cheetah is also larger and has better coolant flow IMO. The cheetah also has powervalves. The cheetah also has a bigger bore than that of cubs. Cheetah cubs use the same reeds as stock banshee cylinders, same head, and no powervalves. chase@miamiatv.com
since were on the subject of cheeta vrs cubs ..... do you think its that big of a difference in HP ? I mean there alot more $ . Im allready on the quest for more hp , so i figured id ask that newb question
GleasmJA
Really... is the HP diffrence offset the price diffrence. That is a big chunk of coin, so there should be a big chunk of HP diffrence for that. If you want to put it to numbers... it's double the price.. so you should get at least 25% more power at least. bansheeseat$$
Cheetahs use cr 250 reeds and as for power they can be the same or different depends on where you want the power.my cheetah is the same bore as my cub.cheetah is the way to go if you do anything else besides stricktly drag racing. BigRed350x
Dont the big cheetahs actually use a 250r reed cage? No they use the reed cage from the YZ two-stroke 250 if I'm thinking correctly.

FasterThanU90
the hp is about the same till u get into the bigger strokes like 10mm +
korndawg
If I understand it correctly, the big advantage of the cheetah over the cub isn't so much a difference in the amount of HP, but where it delivers the HP. The cub is pretty much setup just for drag racing, while the cheetah has the powervalves, which allows you to have more bottom end/mid range, thus making it better for doing things other than just drag racing. Um...isn't that kinda what he just said?? The nice thing about the cubs is supposed bolt on for everything. Cheetahs you'd need different reed cages to start, not sure what else. I'm not sure if all exhaust pipes clear the powervalves, etc. having some bottom end would be nice....
