case pressure ?

Recommended Posts

banshee has new top end , bottom end has new seals and everything checked out, motor runs good. starts on one kick , took it down the street for a 1 minute ride and oil started coming out of the hose near front. the hose comes from the back of the case into a tee , then one comes from the clutch side to the same tee , then it goes to the front and just hangs over the pipes, oil came spitting from that hose with pressure , how can the tranny have pressure ? please help i just built this shee and want to ride it.

that hoes coming from the cover is a vent into your clutch cover... as far as why it had pressure to shoot out oil im not sure man... maybe your crank seals arnt seated all the way? or maybe your bond around the case halfs is leaking but like i said im not sure man iv never had that problem

If your oil does not have coolant in it, did you make sure you lined up the little bumps on the bearings with the notches in the case? Before you just tear it back apart do a leak down test with the clutch cover off and make sure it's not the main seal. Make sure you seal the coolant tube that goes through the top case. If you are losing pressure try pinching the vent hose on the back of the motor for for a min. then release it. If you hear air escape when you release the hose split the case and check the bearings alignment. If it's not leaking out there it could be a head gasket/o-ring.
