locogato11283
I read an magazine article where they tested the shift pro, said it shifted like butter with no missed shifts while hill climbing. at 69 bucks i would go that way no star wheel to modify, my problem is i cant get tudors to answer his ph, only a recording, and he didnt return my call, stinks i want the kit. yep. magazine articles only tell the truth!!!! i would trust the advice of experienced members here before id trust a magazine article..but hey, its whatever... fun_on_the_sand
I just got the Shift Pro kit and the modified Shift Star from Cascade http://www.cascadeinnovations.net I will install it this week I think, some times, if you have the money, spend it in something that will make your ride more pleasant. Missing shift is not funny at all... is embarrasing...
boonman
I don't think it's the star, but putting in a modded star is a wonderful thing to do!! I do believe you have a misadjustment on the shift shaft that is causing the shift lever to not engage properly on the star and in turn the shift drum isn't rotating enough, (or at all) to select the gear(s) you want. But, when you put the star in, re-adjust the shaft assembly as per the manual specs.

headsup
when drag racing, my bike misses shifts like crazy, and its not the driver, several people ride it and when i go to shift its like it never leaves the gear and sometimes have to shift it up like 4 times to hit the next gear (only when drag racing). is there a stiffer spring or something i could try besides a different tranny to keep my shifts quick and percise yeah, i deal with the same damn problem, i was told by the local shop that the fix is to round off the shift star, how much, i dont know.i will have them do it just to be safe.i told them i wanted the blaster shift star as that is suppose to work better, but they told me its not longer available as a one piece unit.
