dajogejr
Head over to PlanetSand.com. Not to knock the HQ at all...but this board isn't hard core drag racers like those folks are. You'll learn everything you need to know about meth, jetting, reading plugs, etc. They'll also tell you what plug to run, what gap, what fuel/oil ratio, etc., as well. snowprophet1
I have a set of EGTs on my banshee. I got it dialed in on gas (according to the plug readings), and then just tuned it in on alky by hitting the same egts. I know (first hand) that if you lock 'er up on alky you can really wipe out the motor. I ran alky w/stock carbs on mine the other year (drag ported) w/no problems. This year I made up some triple exhaust port cylinders, and they ran great. When I put on the same alky carbs w/these cylinders, it locked up so hard, it cracked the cylinder and even took out the material between the transfer and auxillary exhaust port! OUCH! I ran 1/4 mile on alky last year and the motor was faster and ran cooler. Just start rich and work your way down. Play it safe, and it will be worth the while. Close up your plug gap to .018" and advance your timing a couple more degrees than you are running on gas (alky explodes a little slower than gas). race-a-holic
I use BR9EG NGK competition plugs(red box). For the regular NGK(yellow box),I'd use a BR9ES. Setting the plugs at .018 will be a good idea. For alcohol,I advanced my timing to +8. I also have a dyna ignition. Who did you get your jets from? What size are they? Do you have the extra power jets/dial-a-jets for extra fuel? Make sure to purge the bike everyday after you ride it.

race-a-holic
People purge it differently.I personally drain the tank. Put regular gas mixed with oil in the tank.Run it for about 3 minutes. I've heard that reading an alcohol plug is difficult. Some can do it by just listening to it. Wish I could. They listen for if it's cleaning out on topend or loading up I think. Put the biggest jet you have in it to start with.Better to be on the safe side.
