Newb To Jetting

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I am in need of some help here. I am new to all this jetting stuff. I have an 2000 Shee, mods listed below. I bought it used from a guy who said it is jetted for my elevation already which is 3500 feet. I am not fouling plugs but they are black, not the tan color they should be. I have no problems with not getting into the power band in any of the gears. I usually ride in about 20-30celcius (68-90F)weather. I am running YamaLube oil at 32:1. I hope someone can help me get my jetting straightened out, or even if it is anything to worry about, Thanks

It would help us out if you listed what size jets you were using. Give us a point to start with. Take a look and get back to us.

At that elevation, and if those are the K&N Clamp on pods (no airbox)...you should be at about a 290 main jet, 25 pilot (stock) and 1.0 to 1.5 turns out on the air screw.

I would bet they have 320 to 340 mains in there, which...would be correct for sea level riding in those temps. Too rich for you, though...

Yeah, you're gonna need to pull the bowls off to see what is in there, but I'd bet it's a 300 or higher jet.
