96dragbanshee
this is the last time i take my banshee to Hemans Atv repair in Creighton Missouri. I sent it to them to have idel screw put in my carbuerators. i get it back 5 weeks later and the first trip up the road the left one falls out and leans my left side causing seizure of the piston. To make matters worse the morons at the place failed to tighten the intake clamp between intake and carb on the same side. I search deeper and realize i now get no spark. I opened the stator side and find metal shavings. Tomorrow i will take bike to get estimate. Now when i kick my kick lever the flywheel doesnt move. Any ideas what this will cost to fix. Btw the motor leaks oil out of the bottom end horribly. What should i do? Sue them or fork the cost myself. Any suggestions?
chris642
damn, 5 weeks for idle screws? that took me like 30 minutes to put on! It sounds like there is some serious damage there, assuming your bottom end is seized since your flywheel is not moving, it could cost you anywhere from $800-1500 to overhaul the motor yourself which includes all new seals, bearings, pistons, crank, gaskets, etc depending on what else is broken too. What a shop would charge you i cant say, but it wont be pretty!
96dragbanshee
yeah but that doesnt even consider the fact that there is a crack in the bottom case so add more. I will have estimate done and let you know what they think. i am guessing about 3000 in a shop assuming the port work that trinity did isnt all fuc*** to hell. 96dragbanshee
the count down is on. 30 days til i show up and court on a 3000dollar lawsuit. Going to have a badass bike when all is said and done. Took my bike to local shop the port job is ruined the case is cracked 4mil crank is broken. Left side cylinder is toast. Sorry for the guys that cant do a simple task without screwing up. The stator is shot 200watt Ricky stator (metal on the Magnets). Flywheel is fucked 2600 to fix by yamaha dealer not and that was lowball estimate is what they said. So more like 3500 probably to get totally fixed. dajogejr
If you live in or near Creighton, you're 150 miles from Jeff @ FAST Racing. He's in Holton, KS. If sredish's mechanic can't fit you in...I'm sure Jeff could. Give him a call...
96dragbanshee
man i know about jeff i just figured damn for idel screws why take it to him and slow him down on bigger projects and fuck a normal person can put idel screws in in 30 mins. It took forever for them to get in and then they halfassed it. Gay i know thats what i get for taking it to someone other than jeff. But when the shee is up and going again it is going into 10mil stroker and going to be faster and badder than ever so i guess that is always good. Someone the other day mentioned a cheetah cub 65 mm +4 complete motor for sale for 2500.00. It wasn't in the for sale forum, one of the mod forums. 96dragbanshee
Reno's bid me at 2600 but they said that was lowball estimate. They still have the bike and digging deeper into it. I hope i get the final estimate so i know what to sue for. I think i will go at 3000-3500. When i settle out i may be taking it to jeff for the motor work and shit. So i will let you know how it turns out.
