First off...with just pipes, drop that front back down to a 14 tooth.

I just read it's basically brand new. If I were you, I'd get a few bolt ons first.

Take off the lid of the box, or...remove it.

Lighten your flywheel. Get a timing plate. Boost Bottle...(ha ha...just kidding)

Get rid of the TORS. Buy a NOSS head.

If I had a brand new engine, I'd have a hard time justifying tearing it down for no reason...or just to get more performance.

I'd wait till after the first year or so to tear it down and go porting, etc...

Just my .02.

Its not how high the cub revs that would kill you on trails but HOW the power hits that would kill you. They are a drag port cylinder and hit ALL at once. I will get a video for you today to give you an idea of what we are talking about. I will try trails every now and then with mine and its basically lugging it around really low in the rpms to get around corners and over crap, then when I find a little straight away you open it up and go flying up to the next turn or obstacle where you smash on the brakes and you are back down around 3-5000rpm with not much power.

A dune or play port would give you all you are looking for. Some things that will help you if you haven't already done them are: Reeds, Higher Compression, advance timing, bigger carbs. Those will give you more of what you are looking for, then get a dune port or a play port. Jeff at F.A.S.T. does a port job that would be pretty good for you. If you can find them any more get a set of Gorr woods ported stock cylinders, they would be PERFECT for you. The guy isn't around any more so they are pretty rare, but are exactly what you are looking for.

one thing you have to watch with log roads and fire trails is, cubs love fuel, so much that me 4 mill was sucking the bowels dry on 39pwks on gas. just one more thing to watch out for. my buddy had a dune port 350 built by jeff not to long ago and that bike is a blast to ride and it will shurly hold its own on the drag strip. hit up bigcrewduramax on here he will tell ya all about it

JT...you know they make billet bowls for our carbs? They hold 1/3 more fuel, I think.

Also...another trick is to remove one of the floats....

You can always get a fuel pump that runs off the intake pulses. Those work pretty well.

RD or RDZ?

Call a few builders...but, beware...they're all pretty busy right now.

Jeff from FAST gets my money, but call a bunch.

Jeff, Jim @ Passion, Patriot Racing, K&T, Redline, Grand River Racing, RDZ....the list goes on and on...

If this ever was a true statement, it goes double for port work.

You get what you pay for.

Don't shop by price alone...
