fastcar01
Hoo Hoo, johnny new guy found a picture and a description of something on some other web site and suddenly became a pro! Ha Ha Ha Ha! Like I said before... run your shit how you want. I don't give a FUCK what you think about how I run mine. Last time I checked there was nothing wrong with being a little rich. Oh wait, I'm sorry, you are the professional, I guess I better ask you... As far as a new guy, yeah new to Banshee's, not new to 2-strokes. A 2-stroke is a 2-stroke, sleds, atv's, bikes, ski's. I never said I was a pro, but I ain't stupd either, I know my shit. Either way, take some corrective critisim and learn from it. The reason I come to this site is to learn. It is hard to do so when people cop an attitude. There are lots of things I learned from here that I did not know.

The people who can give me critisim know who they are and i will take it from them. Red, I kind of have to agree with him from one angle. I feel I know my stuff pretty well, but I am also very aware that I can always learn more. Good for instance, I didn't know about piston wash, and from the look of those pics if they're legit, I am on the lean side. Now, I don't think that would be the case since I'm on the same top end for the last 15-16 months (probably around 80 hours or so), but hey new info to take a look at. Plus, I'm not sure how an attitude, of any sort, is beneficial to the advancement of knowledge or the sport. I look at everything that's presented as a way to make myself smarter. Maybe from experience I know that point 1,2 & 3 aren't right, but that just gives the opportunity to help someone else learn. I never want to surround myself with people who all know less than me, because I will never learn from them. Okay, somebody take this damn soapbox away from me! Simple fact is you were trying to brag about how good your motor runs, but the fact is it is not tuned right. Now your right, there really isn't much wrong with running a motor on the rich side, if you are a non-competetive person, who is content following the leader, and you have extra money to waste. Now how do I go about earning an attitude around here? Make allot of posts? I have not went through all yours, but if they are all like the one we are discussing, then I don't think it is worth my time. 2003LimitedBanshee has the right attitude. Maybee this site should look at setting up a thread for advanced tuners/racers. That way people like you can live in lala land and people who want to learn has aplace to do it, without being met with arguing.

First of all, this site isn't here for anyone interested in advanced tuning or getting mega power out of their banshee. Go over to planetsand if that's what you want. The discussions there are a lot more technical and provide more number based data. Bansheehq is more for the average joe banshee rider who likes power but isn't all gung-ho about being PERFECTLY tuned. If anyone disagrees with me they haven't spent much time at planetsand doing research. Yes, HQ has a wealth of information, its just not the same sort of information as PS has. Show me a post on HQ where someone went through and gave port timing numbers and degrees for how to port your own cylinders, then helped the guy with different numbers for different pipes... Everyone on HQ is kinda secretive about how they do things sometimes. Planetsand is a lot more openin that respect. Sounds to me like you would fit in better over there. You earn attitude around here by being a dick and a post whore. (me). Read this, understand it, then you might be able to get back to me about how to tune my ride. Show me some calculations you made based on your readings, and some porting you've done based on your findings, also some home-made pipes would be nice. http://edj.net/2stroke/jennings/2stroketunershandbook.pdf I've worked in a few machine shops and did a lot of research in college concerning two-strokes. I've probably machined more parts for my own banshee than you've bought for yours. Yes, I know about piston wash, long before you came to the HQ, yes I run mine rich, but I do it for a reason. I work with experimental fuels from time to time (That I make on my own). I have reasons behind my madness. fastcar01
I will have to check out the planetsand. Honestly I am not super into ATV's, sleds are my passion. I used to ride bikes, but hurt myself last year and said thats enough, so I switched to four wheels (call me a pussy, I don't care). When I got the Banshee, I found this site and didn't really look for more places. Like I said before a 2-stroke is a 2-stroke. I have a sled site that gets pretty technical. I just like to have a toy to play with during the summer. Either way, like I said before I am new to Bashee's so this site is good for me. But I do get pissed when someone cops an attitude about me, without knowing me, that was my point. Either way, I'm done ranting. I will check out that other site as well, thanks for the info. No problem. I too get pissed when someone cops an attitude about me and how I have my ride tuned. I do things for a reason and know very well what I am doing and why. Even? BigRed350x
Bigred, that jug looks familiar. I saw you got rid of the cubs you were running? I did have some K&T stock stroke cubs on with my 4mil stroker running with stroker domes. Made it more of a dune-port. I traded the stock stroke cub for a K&T 4mil cub. Same thing, just the new one is cast for the 4mil. Moved the port timing up a litlte higher and gave it more top end.
2003LimitedBanshee
Isn't it nice when we can all get along? Red turned me onto PS not that long ago, and I definitely do a whole lot of "listening", reading. The technical discussion over there is second to none, that I've found so far. You've got some of the top builders posting around there with regularity. I have to wonder if that port timing, and porting advice was in reference to the thread I started over on PS Red? Got my Foredom stuff coming, and will order my CC Specialty 90* tomorrow if they're open. Going to the dunes next Friday then it comes apart. I definitely felt smart around here, but felt WAY stupid once I started reading some threads over on PS. No offense to anyone here, but there are some building freaks over there. Yeah, I think yours was ONE of the threads about porting over there. There are about 5 different ones where they go into massive detail about angles, numbers, degrees, window size, etc. You just have to search around for them. PS is the place to be for the real technical conversations. Those guys will definitely make you feel pretty dumb.
