shanYE west
I just installed a stage 2 hotcam and a Hotcams HD spring set on a 01' raptor and I set the valves to spec. I was just wondering if the stage 2 cam with the HD srpings would cuase more valve noise then the stockers? I'm getting a bit more valve noise now then before and I just want to make sure everything is ok. I double checked everything I could think of. I tend to second guess myself when I work on 4-strokes. jbooker82
It is just a little louder than the stock set up. If it is excessive then you probably have the Auto Decomp 180 degs off. Mine was installed wrong and it ran like it was stock or worse.

Master of Faster
Hotcams recommended valve lash will cause more noise than stock. Personally I think there specs are a little loose. I've installed a couple hotcams in Raptors and usually set them at .005 intake and .007 exhaust which is tighter than what Hotcams recommends but has worked great thus far. FMS50
I wonder why they say you need a min of 95 octane fuel with the stage 2 cam.
