Passion 12-port Stroker Jetting

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have been reading the numerous topics about jetting the passion stroker and need a little advice. I recently got my jugs back from Jim and put the bike all back together, took it out last weekend with the jetting that came with the carbs (per Jims break-in recommendation) and it rips pretty darn good up top but is crappy everywhere else (which I expected). So now I am ready to get this thing dialed in. My intentions are to get it tuned on a dyno, but I want a good starting point so I can get the carbs almost there before wasting $$$ on the dyno.

So here is what I got out of the other posts: 168main, 50 pilot, needle middle clip.

Right now to get it to idle I had to turn the idle screw all the way in and it idles fine but a little high.

Any help would be great. Here are the mods:

Passion 12-port Stroker w/ Custom cut domes (no plate)

35mm PWK

K&N Clamp-ons w/ outerwears

V-Force 3

Shearer Inframes

Timing +4

Running straight C12 (which I think is 108)

How is it running crappy...boggy, like it's rich...or popping/cutting out like it's lean.

Start with your air screws. I'd turn 'em all the way in, start at 1/2 turn out...and once you turn 'em give 'em 20 seconds to take the new adjustment.

See how it runs. Keep on turning the air screw 1/2 turn out at a time, once you go past 2.5 to 3 turns, get smaller (leaner) pilots.

Then...go to the needle. I'd start by richening it. If it goes worse...well, you get the idea.

What elevation and temps you running at?

What needle you running?

Take it for a good ride, staying below the top of the revs...and see how your plugs look.

Its running super rich right now so I know I need to lean it up some. This is for sea level jetting at 80 degrees. Just want a ballpark on where to start but I am not looking to get it dialed in... going to get some baseline jetting done, take it to the dyno & dial it in, then take it home and do some real world tuning on it (not the dyno's make believe world). Please chime in if you have a 12-port Stroker.

raise the needle to the 5th clip and try some 150 mains

you most likely have dgk needle i would get a dek puts a bit more fuel in.

might start at 155 mains and work down.

i just re read this post. your running cut domes not a plate. im not sure if the dome motors act like the plate ones.

i think buds motor which was a dome motor ran similar jetting so it should work ok.

you might have to play around with it. but i know 168 is too fat of a main.

Yeah Jim was telling me the plate motors like a boat load of fuel in the midrange and are a little trickier to jet.
