NITRUSS Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 How large of a wet shot can a stock motor take? What is a good front spocket size for quater mile drag racing on pavement?? I ALSO WANT TO SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE IN THIS FORUM. I JUST GOT MY FIRST BANSHEE.... ANYONE RACE AT CICIL COUNTY, MD? Quote
chase@miamiatv.com Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 nitrous on a stock motor ? = boom Nitrous in general is a touchy subject , its never too much nitrous until it blows. Gearing for your subject is touchy , it depends on what motor mods you have / what kind of monster gears your bike can pull if ure bone stock , forget the gearing ....... General rule of thumb is to be topping out as you cross the line , play with your gearing and see what you can do. Welcome to the HQ , If your new to banshees you found the right place -chase Quote
NITRUSS Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 I have 2000 with pro circut pipes v-force reeds hinson clutch set up K & N filter Every motor can take some nitrous before it pops. I have it on every powersport toy I own. Are stock pistons forged or cast. Does anyone in the forum spray their banshee and if so what mods are necessary to the engine?? Thanks Quote
chase@miamiatv.com Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 so you spray on every toy you own yet you dont know what a banshee can handle ? start low work ure way up till it pops. Quote

FasterThanU90 Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 u should have ur crank welded and i wouldnt reccomend using VF3`s with nitrous unless u plan on replacing them after the first run Quote
lowriderb Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 stock pistons are cast, of course they will hold up to some nitrous but how much i wouldnt be willing to try to find out.. from what ive seen with gas you want your fuel jet about 4 steps larger than the n2, with alcohol you want it to be 8-10.. like fasterthanU said i would deffinitly get the crank trued and welded and some forged pistons.. barely legal racing Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted on the progress(destruction) of the project. i wouldnt say be topped out when you cross the line because your max torque is way before topped out, you need to find where ur max torque is and gear it that way, cross the line pulling, because when you just top it out your not gaining much other than just abusing ur shee. racer Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 not even just v-force 3's. skip out on all carbon reeds. the cold nitrous will freeze the carbon and make them break off, and into your intake ports they go! Quote
alcoholbanshee Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I have made tons of passes on carbon tech carbon fiber reeds without issue! So have others within the group of GRR riders. I am talking about 50-70 horse shots to, not little baby shots. Quote
