dajogejr
His PM is FASTOYS. I think it's barnett HS springs, thicker stock steels and FZR600 street bike fibers, but...I could be wrong. If you have a basic motor, not a lot of mods, you can get away with using 3 stock springs and 3 HD springs, it'll ease the pull a bit. I had a piped shee last year, and this worked no problem. After a year of beating the bejesus out of it, it still looks great. When I switched to my cub motor this year, however...I'm using all 6 HD springs and it didn't slip at all on a dyno...that's saying a lot. I also bought a new inner and outer hub, and new basket from Jeff as well...
BigRed350x
Just make your own kit, nothing hard. I run FZR fibers, steels from the tusk kit, and 6 HD springs. Im going to a lockup though, I keep seeing a little slippage here and there, depending on conditions.
Hilarious
You guys runnin OEM inner hub and pressure plate or billet?
dajogejr
OEM inner and pressure plate. I think it's a Magnum basket...
Hilarious
OEM inner and pressure plate. I think it's a Magnum basket... Edit: My bad, that's 450 bucks (billet) vs. bout 50 (OEM). :baseball_w00t:
dajogejr
Yeah, once I go drag porting, alky, Shearers and a lockup clutch...I might be ready for that route...

Now where's my parts? I'm tring to understand this clutch crap. I take it, a new OEM inner hub and press. plate wont hold up to the cub and a lock up? All this mated with a billet basket. dajogejr
Nope...didn't mean it that way. I bought a new inner and outer along with my basket. Everything in there was OEM, except from Jeff's clutch. When I go the route I plan on going...I'll be up over 100HP... I'll talk with Jeffro again, but...I'll probably get a billet assembly. If he says don't worry about it...I'll keep OEM in there. I know there's less wear on the plates with a lockup, so...OEM might be fine. I'll probably go dunable override while I'm doing all this as well... Jeff hasn't steered me wrong yet, so...I'll go with what he recommends. (ok...so my wallet doesn't always like him...but, oh well... ) J/K...Jeff....your banshee crack addict will talk to you next week!!
Hilarious
I just may end up going billet all the way. My banshee had maybe 25 hours on it, its whole life. And when I tore it down, I figured all the clutch parts would be fine. The inner hub had grooves and shit all in it and the pressure plate looks like it was recycled from shitty, cheap aluminum cans. This magnum billet basket looks like it could withstand some hella abuse so I imagine the inner hub and press. plate should also do the same. When you gots a couple grand sunk into your bike, whats another couple hundred bucks, right? :baseball_wacko:

The few hundred here and there are adding up F.A.S.T. though..... (pun intended...)
BigRed350x
LMAO, nothing hard but yours is slipping. Cmon on now Red which is it ?! jk lol I was saying its nothing hard to put one together from pieces. I've also been running the same clutch for 5 months now and to just now be seeing a little slippage with absolutely no adjustment is pretty good. I bet I can go another 5 months on the same one once I adjust it. There's nothing to the clutches on these things and putting one together from different parts is nothing special, and its cheaper. Jeff I hear you and Rippen might be headed out this way, going to St. A's Depending on work I might tag along with you fools. LOL You both ought to stop by KP on the way back and check out the daily virgin sand we get out here. You get to make fresh tracks every morning. Can't beat that!
