hellride96
i work at a dealership and the guys at our bodyshop owe me a few favors. just wondering if you guys have ever seen the case painted, ive seen them powder coated and it looks good. any insight would be great, ive already got the motor off replacing the crank, just figured i'd clean up the motor real good and add some color. and it wont cost me a dime!!!! paint should look just as good as powder coating shouldnt it. just not as durable. right
EastCoast Banshee
I really wouldnt see any problem doing it. I mean shit its free why not. Also it wont hold up as good as PC but it should be fine Edited July 6, 2006 by EastCoast Banshee

Rustbag
im curious if u could chrome ur cases. Anybody ever done that?
mxbanshee
I would never paint a case. It is right where your boot rub and I don't care what paint or how many layers of clear it will come off, same with chrome. Either polish or PC. Again, my $0.
racer
NYUK had his done, colored. dont remember the process. high gloss black looked trick as fuck. but it was an asphalt drag bike, so it may not be what youre wanting for a trail bike. plus imagine how longh it would take to get those cases to a nice finish. they are cast rough as a cob. BansheeCJ3
I just thought of this the other day. I think PC'ed cases would look so good. I've seen it on a kx-250 and it looked great. Never seen it on a Banshee though. I would try it
The Faster Cracker
jsut an idea, i have used high heat engine block paint on some of my stuff like a arms and swingarm. you can get it in diffrent colors and stuff. i have had it on there for about a year or so running through pastures and MX tracks and i still haven't had to touch it up yet
jbooker82
I used VHT Engine Enamel on my raptor. VHT Engine Enamel LINK Make sure you get them real clean. I wiped all my parts down with aceton. After the paint dried I put them in the oven at 215 for an hour. I wasnt for sure if the side covers would get hot enough to cure the paint so i just baked every thing. I would like to make my 97 banshee look like a 2006 LE to match my raptor. Duner440
I think you will be fine if you have them painted. Ive seen several bikes that have the cases painted and they have had no problems. I had mine powder coated silver just because it makes the surface easier to clean. You know how the top case gets mud and dirt all over it and its a sob to get it clean? Mine cleans right off. One of my friends polished his cases and that looks kick ass but it took him forever. Im not that dedicated!! The only regret I have on mine is the person I sent them to was a hack and I didnt clean up the casting flaws.
