RILS
my setup as you can see is basic and im planing on a head, jetting, and timing i just want to touch 90 or so and if it can do it now? and i do anything that is near wide trails, MX, sand, streets, ect.. so im just wondering Proably too high with those tall tires. With 22s and the mods you have listed 13 or 14 in the front will imo be more suited. Edited July 5, 2006 by RILS
dajogejr
Good luck touching 90 with just pipes and an air filter... You might be able to...but unless you're on an airplane runway...it'll take forever... I agree...with those tires, 13 or 14 in the front... LIM_Whiteboy4life
thanks for the input so i should just leave the stock setup until i do a cub setup and also i run threw the gears like nothing but anyway i would need shocks or something because i hit the to pof 5th gear the quad starts to shake and 6th gear it climbs steadly but it shakes violently (on the street havent found a nice open dirt or sand spot just yet) Edited July 5, 2006 by LIM_Whiteboy4life
dajogejr
Shocks probably aren't causing that... I'd check the wheels/spindles/axle and see if they're bent. Then shake down the front end to make sure ball joints, tie rods, spindles or bearings aren't worn... Since you mentioned pavement, it could just be the tires trying to grip the cement. Check everything anyways...but, you have OFFROAD tires...they're gonna act funky on pavement..period.

Yea im not a big fan of riding on pavement with mine, just cause they wear down a lot quicker, and yea since there for offroad, miswell put them on gravel :thumb:
spunmonkey
I am gonna say the shake is from your tires more than anything else. You have knobby off road tires that you are running on pavement so that to start is gonna make a little shake. Also the tire are not balanced either unless you did them yourself. So your unbalanced tires are now making things worse. Dustin
