Quick Question

Recommended Posts

i was just thinking...if i were to race someone on the street with my shee, how would i keep my front end from jumping up, and doing a giant wheelie at the start of the race.? i know there is a way to do that.. or i could of been dreaming. lol. i doubt i'll do this, but i just wanna know. because u know... u really have to "let it out" when you get on a banshee. :flamewar:

to not get the front lift up , lean forward " fuck the tank " , rev up pop clutch ... lean into it

or you can always extend the swing arm .

careful tho i raced this one kid once to see how fast he was because he was racin my buddy for money , he thought my peice of shit MX DRAG was fast lol , he ended up FLIPPING all the way back off the line and bending his frame and it was the laughing stock of the day, he was fine .

lol my mx drag joke beat a 10mill cheetah only because the guy flipped it .

yeah hes just askin questions , i was on here once as newb as can be and you all helped me.

Normally when you launch man try 2nd gear launches , if you can get the tires to spin without the front comin up your doin preety good in my eyes ... You can always change your chain sprocket gearing on your bike but that will ultimately affect the speed,,, see if ya can get the front end to stay down and get the back spinnin just a bit, too much spin and you well loose time . A wise word from One of my biggest influences in my life that recently past away always told me

" PERFECT PRACTISE , MAKES PERFECT "

God bless all

what kind of mods does your bike have , and do you know how many teeth your sprockets have ( front sprocket and rear sprocket ) if they are stock then they are 14 .40 I THINK

stick around here youll learn more about a banshee then any book will ever teach you .

mods.. ok.. i have T5's, Coolhead with 20cc domes, stock carbs with boyseen reeds, two into one airfilter(toomey). And thats about it. And for looks, i just have chrome trailtech (X) handle bars, with Oury grips. Thi s summer though i am going to get a dune port, and i am probably going to get the PJ 34mm carbs. what else is really crucial? if you wanna go fast, what mods are most important, and most popular? oh ya, and i have no idea how many teeth my sprocket has. front and rear..no idea. but they are stock. but i will learn. :notworthy:

Stock is 14 up front, 41 out back.

Welcome to the BHQ.

You are on the right track with a port job and bigger carbs. :thumb:

Edit: I'd prolly wait till fall or so to send your jugs in. Or get a spare set to send in

to get your port job. From my experience, you will be waiting on your port job for a

little and will deffinately cut out your riding time. But the wait should be worth it.

If you plan on running on the street, you need to first figure out the distance.

Then, adjust your gearing, tires, suspension accordingly.

You can get a 1980 3 wheeler to wheelie like hell off the line if you rev it up enough and jam it into gear...

Just practice your clutch work when launching...There will be little or no slipping on the pavement...so you want just enough power getting to the rear wheels to get traction, launch hard and not land on your keister...

Welcome to the HQ...

the biggest mod you can probly do to any banshee is porting , timing plates are always good , lightend fly wheel , and maybe a upgraded clutch . All that stuff goes hand in hand <---

You can change a clutch yourself , its not that hard to do i honestly watched someone do it and learnd that way . Best bet is to get a clymer off ebay or wherever , they will help you with break down diaphgrams , aswell as what to toque the bolts down to . Aswelll invest in a torque wrench so you can tighten down to specs ... Your clutch mite be really good but if your port job and setup starts makin serious HP your stock clutch will be gone in no time . JMO
