bansheefire
we ran the motor with the grr's and the port job it had , and i dont even want to say the # it was at ( its depressing ) low LOW . So he is garuntee'ing me the numbers i want ... i wouldnt consider the port job free because i have traded alot of work for work........ 10 thousand biz cards , 2 banners , 1 stand alone sign , a hundred stickers . We will just have to wait and see wont we ,Going for tripple digit hp's , lectrons and all. Will post pics when she is done , they are by far the fastest people in FLA. I know'n these people for close to 7 years , they are not just some radom people. We sold the pipes to a shop around here who wants them for a 16mill trex.... Im not worried i been wanting a set of inframes that will perform . will keep ya posted red - chase EDIT : ALL there bikes that they drag on , run there custom pipes. THEY ARE FAST AS SHIT !!!!!! dajogejr
Going for tripple digit hp's Chase...if you can't get triple digits out of a 10 mil easily...they are doing something wrong...seriously. You can get that pretty easily out of a 4 mil cub, drag port, 39PWKs and Shearers on Alky...possibly on gas with the right port work. If you went alky with the right porting on that 10 mil...you should be closer to 125HP or so...again, depending on the porting. Good luck buddy!! Post up some dyno's when done! As for the original poster...what the fellows above said is true. You're paying for knowledge and time..basically. And you get what you pay for, period. You can buy a port job off Ebay for a hundred bucks or so...but it should pale in comparison with a well known builder's 600 dollar jobie... **Edit** See note below Edited June 28, 2006 by dajogejr
Hilarious
Why is porting so expensive? The same answer applies to the question, why is a divorce so expensive? Because its worth it! :thumb:

Anyone know what happend to the head bangin' smiliy face? Im waitin' on Jeff to perform his porting magic. Any of ya'll heard from Jeff, lately? While back he told me he had a crap load of jugs waiting on port jobs.
dajogejr
I normally call him once a week, or every other week. I could just talk to that cat for an hour...he flat out kills me. I've had nothing but problems with my cub motor, and he's been there to talk to every step of the way for help or advice. (None of the problems are his fault, BTW...he just sent the parts, welded up the crank and cleaned up the cylinders...) Shit...a month or so back he was holding up UPS around their deadline to overnight me carbs, intakes, air filters, etc. to the dunes I was at (Silver Lake)...on a FRIDAY... He has been having back problems though.... I almost wished I sent him my stock cylinders and had him drag port 'em, instead of all this money invested in my cub... The cub is worth it once you get it tuned. I won't ever go back to stock cylinders. Everything I build from now on will have them. Cubs or a Cheetah. I hate to call the guy. He's gotta be busier than a cat coverin' up shit. I just pm the shit outta him. lol. He doesnt seem to mind it either. Edit: come to think of it, I think he told me he had like 20 sets of jugs. That's 2 jugs per set. 40 jugs to port. :baseball_shocked: It probably takes what, a couple of days to do one cylinder? And what, you gotta put it on a flow bench? Probably gotta clean em up before he ports em? Then bead blast the paint off the outside of em if the customer requests it? Bore em out too? I can imagine the time spent in fixing up a set of jugs outweighs the amount of money. And what is the turnaround time on a cub monoblock? Lol. dajogejr
Not sure on the turn around...but, I think in the off season I'm going to have him drag port mine. I've seen badassbanshee479's run at Silver Lake last year, Shearers and 39PWK...and to say it was impressive would be an understatment... And he's done more since. On a +8...he still couldn't keep the front end down...it was sick. And neither he nor I are spring chickens...we're both probably pushing mid 200's on rider weight. Yep...Jeff's never been short with me, quite the contrary. A few times I'd be like "Ok...Jeff...Gotta run. I know you got better things to do than BS with me, I know you're busy"... Then...out comes another story. Funny as hell I tell ya. It took me an hour on the phone to order my cub motor from him. He went from flywheel to clutch, spark plug to drain plug to make sure I had what I need. He is always my first call for everything...even if I have to pay 10% extra to get parts from him, (Which, most of the time he's as cheap or cheaper than others...) He's earned my business, trust and respect 10 fold.

dajogejr
FASTOYS is his screen name. Jeff Wendorff is his name, might have butchered the spelling on his last name a bit. When I call...I just call him hill billy... Sometimes...I call and tell him I need a Nitrous kit for my weedeater...I told him he drag ported it for me already, but I need more power... He trued and welded my crank and had to send my Cubs to get re plated. I think a clean up port too. The bad thing is that today is my freakin aniversary so I probably won't get to put it together today
RIPPEN
Not sure on the turn around...but, I think in the off season I'm going to have him drag port mine. I think this IS his "off season" I thought he told me once that usualy after memorial weekend it starts to slow a bit but I don't think thats the case this year.. Jeff I belive is deffinatly worth the wait... I have had several of the same experiences with Jeff as dajogerjr has. When I picked up my engine from him this last spring him and I were talking about paddles.. That was the only thing left that I was needing for the season but had no money at the time to get them. Jeff simply told me "When your ready for paddles let me know. Even if you don't buy them from me, just want to make sure you get the right ones." The guy is very up front and trustworthy. Have heard of many bikes that he has ported that suprise allot of people. I have even suprised a few guys around here with my dune port ... Future needed porting or parts, Jeffs gettin my money RIPPEN
