I like the 4 stroke supercharged ones from seadoo , but i really want to get a 2 stroke because i would do work on it myself . Anyone know what the banshee of the water is ? cutiegirlracing Posted June 25, 2006 Report Share Posted June 25, 2006 (edited) I think the closest to the Banshee on the water is the Kawaski Ultra 150. It's one of the fastest, but falls short on handling compared to some of the other ski's. Seadoo's are the fastest and best handling, but don't have a good reliablity history. We see Seadoos in the shop are the time, but as far as that goes we see Kawaski's too. Yamaha's and Hondas are the most reliable, tend to only see them once a year for winterizing. The supercharged Seadoo's are faster than hell, but are not quick or best handling. Their much heavier and bigger than the 2 strokes. My advice for a ski is this, If the want the fastest best handling 2 seater get a Seadoo RXX, or the RX if you can't find the RXX. Get the carburated one's they are faster. The RX DI's are fuel injected, get more mpg, but are slower. but most likeily the Seadoo's will spend alot of time in the shop, or get a Yamaha 1300R more reliable, but will get beat by the Seadoo. If you want a 3 seater get a supercharged one, handling sucks on a 3 seaters anyway, so the weight isn't going to make much of a differance. Get the Seadoo RXT. If you want something that's more relieble get the Honda 3 seater. 12X( I think ). or the Yamaha. If you want email me with what you would like out of a ski and maybe I can be more helpful. Polish Posted June 25, 2006 Report Share Posted June 25, 2006 :thumb: You said you are looking for a Jet Ski..........so I am assuming a standup Kawasaki.............In that case.........I would hands down get a 650sx somewhere in the early 90's or maybe even a 550 ......they both have reed valves and you can do all sorts of trick mods with that motor..............bro you can get those Skis to hall some serious A$$$$$$$$$$$$...............even if you just put a ride plate and a prop..........its going to rip your arms off................but if money is not an option.........the new skis are Kick A$$$$$$$...........IMO I prefer standups :thumb: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I know the new ski's or watercrafts are nice and fast out the factory , but i dont want to get the new supercharged ones and end up taking it to the dealer after every weekend of riding. Fireroad Express Posted June 25, 2006 Report Share Posted June 25, 2006 my vote for banshee of the water would be the Seadoo Gsx limited. 950cc two stroke engine. the speedo tops out at around 70 mph. will take the gps with me to check top speed but you can tell it is mov'in real fast. it handles well and is very agile. alot better in choppy/rough water than the old XP models. shitloads of fun! cutiegirlracing Posted June 25, 2006 Report Share Posted June 25, 2006 If I remember right the GSX is basically a GTX without the upgraded dash. Take that same 130hp motor, put it in a much smaller hull and you have the RX. Now take that motor and build it up to 165hp and you'll have the RXX. The RXX also revs higher, has the 12 spine impellor, adjustable sponsons, different intake grate and some cometic changes, it also loses the reverse. I've raced about everything from the turbo Hondas, the Yamaha 160 HO, 1300r's, RXPs, Ultra 150 and have yet to be beaten in drag races. I ride an RX. The newer supercharged ski's are fastest top speed, but are heavier. around 200 pounds. Their about 5 mph faster, but in a drag the take about 5 to 7 seconds to make 60 mph. I remember my old flats boat used to do 38 mph and i thought i was flyyyyyyyyyinnnn ..... I will be getting the new ski , as soon as i move into the new house i will be about 2 miles from the indian/bannana river , and another 2 miles till cocoa beach. ( ron jon surf shop area ) ....... Allready Gave up 1 of my banshees to get a jet ski . Thanks for contributing Cutiegirlracing i now have a better understanding of what i need to get . "Blaster on the water" has a special significance around here... :-) Just read some mags and get what you like. I'd recommend my Honda for what you said, but everyone I've met on a PWC is loyal to their brand and model. Also know that PWCs are restricted more so than ATVs. They are looked down on compared to boats. Fisherman especially hate you on two-strokes because of the noise. Wake-jumping is illegal in many states. A lot of places make you take a boating class. Do not be surprised if someone pulls your hull plugs at the dock overnight because you dissed them that afternoon or just cuts your lines and sets your machine adrift on the lake without lights. I have seriously considered getting a four-poke 4x4 to put around on because my experience on PWCs has been that aggressive/unfriendly. Once I stopped near some guys in a local party cove like you would at an ATV riding spot expecting to bull$hit a little. I never felt more of a "you are ruining our chances with those thong-clad girls over there" or "two is company three is a crowd" feeling in my life. ATV riding was never like that. I'm not sure if it is the girls, the sun or in some cases copious quanties of booze consumed. I guess that's it. Many guys get PWCs just to impress the scantly clad ladies and in their minds think they'll take the girls home with them. I just want to have a little fun. Good luck! Well that little fucker thinks its fun to jump the boat wakes, the same one i jump with my wake board. I hate those god damned things. I always go out to holiday isle ( party fest ) and have the stupid morons racing around through the channels and or trying to skip across the flats that are protected ! needless to say thats why i support the local marine patrol. ........ Theres always someone out there that ruins it for everyone. Always wanted one and now its time i get one . The GSX isn't one of them it's a fast bike no doubt, but I would guess it would run closer to 61 to 65. If the water was just perfect and it was running on an almost empty tank and the rider weight less then 80 pounds and the wind was to his back, maybe. The Riva Yamaha runs 87 to 88 with spurts of 90 and it's a 275 horse monster. The GSX is 130 with the 951cc. By the way if you plan on doing any modding to it, get a Yamaha they handle mods very well and are easier to work on and much easier to rejet then a Seadoo. If you get a GSX, keep in mind the older ones still had the 800cc engine, a better engine I think. I think it was in 98 when the went to the 951. The 800 made 110 hp and the 951 made 130 so the 800 were not much slower. Another ski you sould look at is the Yamaha XL760, I'm putting a new top end in one, with Weisco pistons and a better head. It should make around 120 to 130 hp. Won't break 70, but it's going to be blast anyhow. The 951 are open loop cooling, I don't remember if the 800's were (I don't think so). Just keep this in mind, if you plan to run in the ocean. You may want to flush it out after every ride, very easy to do. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
