bigger pistons?

Recommended Posts

First off, and easiest, do a compression check...see where they're at.

You don't necessarily need to get bigger pistons...

You need to have the bore measured by a machine shop or motorcycle shop, and they should be able to tell you if you need to re-ring it, new pistons and rings, or a bore job with new pistons and rings.

There are several tell tale signs by merely looking at pistons...I'd have to write a book right here, which has already been done.

Best bet is to do a search on "worn pistons"...

i dont know if to go for the next bigger size i got vitos .020 on the bike and what are some indications that are visable on the pistons that would let me know if its time for a change.

if your unsure i'd just take the cylinders and pistons into a local shop and have them checked .don't bore bigger unless you have to because there is no real power gain by boring bigger.all it does is cause your cylinders to need resleeved sooner.
