For All You YFZ450 Owners

Recommended Posts

Gonna be getting me a '06 YFZ450 tomorrow...i know i know it's a 4-stroke but I got a good price on it...$5500 brand spankin' new still in the crate! Anyway my question is what kinda exhaust and intake you running? Cam-mod or no cam-mod? That kind of stuff. I've looked all around for exhaust reviews to see which one is the best but nobody really gives a good answer plus I trust HQers more than other people. Thanks for your help guys!

Rossier makes a damn good pipe, and the cam mod is a must.

I believe it's the exhaust cam that comes 1 tooth retarded from the factory...

5500 is a helluva a deal, I've been contemplating a new 4 stroke for trails and play, and my shee for dunes and drag racing...

Think I'm going to wait till the end of the season (live in MI) and pick up a steal if I can....

im running the dr.d pipe. it throws out alot of good bottom and mid power. wakes the yfz up nice. as for the intake i have a k&n air filter and i cant remember the brand of intake plate. as for the n motion mentioned above they do make good power from what i heard and are hella loud but dont get one. everyone has them and they are way too hyped up. lrds are pretty good pipes from what i hear also and duncan fat boys

You got to pay for quality just like anyhting else. All 450's around here that are what i consider fast or atleast close to me are runnin either the sparks or ron woods and i belive ron woods it bout the best u can buy. As for FMF i wouldnt even consider them for a 4-stoke they just aint got the hit that they do on the ol twin 350, of course anyhtings better than stock though.

also HMF is a great pipe for any 4 stroke and hes right there not quite as pricey as the 2 I mentioned.

How are the nmotions hyped up? the guy that builds them puts just as much time into them as any of the others. Sent you a PM jeepman.

my brother has a yoshamira pipe, pro flow plate with a k&n, hot cams and aftermarket ignition. I dont remember what brand the cdi is. we have installed a WR crank, 2mm big bore and he has had the head ported. it runs really good but i hear the ron woods pipe would make more power

n motion is hyped up because everyone says they are the best and im sure they do make good power but are not the best. they are too loud for the nationals so you cant run them there. go over to yfzcentral and read some posts. someone will post pics of their new yfz and will ask what pipe should i get and everyone says nmotion and that is the only pipe they have ever ran. there are just a good of pipes out there but nmotions are the new style so EVERYONE has to have one
