bsrider
CAN ANYONE HELP ME? WHEN MY 350 BANSHEE SITS FOR AWHILE I NEED TO SPRAY A FEW SHOTS (VERY SMALL) OF CARB CLEANER OR ETHER DOWN THROTTLE IN ORDER FOR IT TO START. (I'M IN CALIF. SO WEATHER IS NOT A PROBLEM) IT FIRES UP IMMEDIATELY AND STAYS RUNNING. AND I CAN START IT WITH NO PROBLEMS AFTER THAT, AND IT IDLES VERY GOOD. BUT IF IT SITS FOR AN HOUR OR COLD IT WONT START UNLESS I SPRAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS? WILL BE APPRECIATED!! THANKS Edited June 20, 2006 by bsrider
fastbanshee8
It could be too lean on the pilot circuit. Try turning in your air mixture screws a 1/2 turn each, and see if that helps.

snowprophet1
Check to make sure the short tube that connects the two carbs together is still in place. One carb has a choke, the other doesn't. This tube connects the carbs where the choke area is, so when you pull the choke, both carbs get the extra fuel to start. Somebody I know was tinkering w/the carbs and didn't realize the tube fell off down under the carbs. He was so frustrated he was ready to sell it. I took a look and saw the tube missing. It was laying on top his crankcase just under the carbs. I put it in place and gave it one kick and it fired right up. I should have offered him a couple hundred bucks for it before I looked at it! :yelrotflmao:

snowprophet1
It was said that it idles good. IF the idle was set real high, it wouldn't pull through the choke circuit as strong, making it harder to start when cold, but if it isn't idling real high, then that's probably not your problem either. Like somebody else stated already, the float bowls are actually different. One has the passage drilled for the "choke" carb, and the other bowl looks identical, but the passage isn't drilled.
