FasterThanU90 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 ya they work and feel great expecially after a long day of riding i dont really like the bigger newer ones i steal my Moms lol when shes not riding its elastic all the way around and i think feels alot better on ur bare back Quote
differentstrokes Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 I've got one built in to my 661 pressure suit. Seems like it helps. Quote
BilDaKid Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 I've got a cheap O'neal one. Makes a huge difference while dune riding. For anyone who doesn't have one, ride half the day with somebody elses, then finish the day out without one. I bet you'll buy one asap. Quote
Flip73 Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I always used one in the past, it got old and I tossed it and never got another one. I liked it though, seems like my back gives out sooner without it. Or maybe I'm just a little older and fatter...anyway, thanks for the reminder, time to get another one. Quote
Shee-Male Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I use one, otherwise I gotta pee 15min's in to the ride :baseball_wibble: , I use an old fox, it also has elastic all around like faster described. Quote
korndawg Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 These belts may help out with keeping your back from hurting, but alot of health experts will tell you that they are actually worse for your back in the long run. The reason for this being that the muscles in your back are relying too much on the belt, and are not doing as much work. This causes the back muscles to get weak, and leaves you more vunerable to back injuries in the future. Quote
Handyman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I've got one built in to my 661 pressure suit. Seems like it helps. How do you like the pressure suit? I have been thinking of getting one but haven't yet. Is it hot or is it ventilatedwell? Quote
differentstrokes Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 How do you like the pressure suit? I have been thinking of getting one but haven't yet. Is it hot or is it ventilatedwell? The whole suit is ventilated and all the pads cinch as tight as you want them. It's pretty comfortable with way more protection than a chest protector alone. As far as the kidney belt being worse for you, maybe if you wear one constantly and have chronic pain that you're trying compensate for. I like one when riding because you're in a very unnatural postion for hours on end and your muscles get way more of a strain than normal plus the main idea is to support your internal organs, not your back. Stinger Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 I don't wear one when quading because that doesn't hurt my back, I most certainly wear one when doing MX on my CR125...without it I could hardly walk for a couple days after 3-4 hours of practice racing, I nearly gave up MX because of it...didn't want to be a cripple when I got older. Now, with the belt, my back doesn't hurt at all...not even fatigued after 3-4 hours.... Quote

My neighbors ex-father in law was a doctor (specialist of some sort that I can't pronounce), and he said the same thing. Quote
knight_ripper Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 You guys are talking about the belts that dudes wear to work in. the weight belts. these are for riding. and you will notice a huge difference once you have one. After a few hours riding, take it off. You can feel your insides drop a couple inches. I too have the 661 jacket. Its awesome. Ventilated well, built well, and comfortable. BUt I havent wrecked in it yet. That will be the ultimate decision factor. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I'm interested in a link to a good pressure suit. Quote
