REVING BUT NOT GOING NO WERE

Recommended Posts

Have a buddy look on...and see if you're roasting the tires.

Or...make sure they're at about 4PSI and launch on some grass..preferrably not an irritable neighbor's...

If you're on grass...and it still revs up and goes nowhere, it might be clutch time.

Pickup a clymers manual, the banshee bible, and make sure it's adjusted properly at the lever and at the arm on the left side of the cases...

A boost bottle does nothing except take up room...and reeds aren't a HUGE improvment...so, it's not like you just added twice the HP...

If you just put new reeds in, and it is idling really fast, you may have an air leak. If it is sucking air in from around the gaskets, it will lean the mixture out and idle really fast (just like when you run out of gas). When you take the reed cages out, you need to clean the gasket surfaces really well. Then replace with new gaskets. Start it up and spray some carb cleaner around the intake and it should suddenly idle up when the carb cleaner is sucked in.

Try new gaskets and clean the surfaces really well.
